HOW DO THEY KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH THIS!!! In a world where it no longer seems possible for every movie in a franchise to be a banger, Keanu Reeves and Chad Stahelski emerge from the shadows, ghostly silhouettes in black suits, and say “shhhh it’s okay. We have more dogs and Donnie Yen. We also did that overhead tracking shot you wanted, and made our universe’s version of Daredevil and the Penguin. You will see old favorites, and be introduced to new ones. You will see some of the most impressive, well lit/shot action you’ve ever seen in your life. It’s face melting. It’s going to be okay”

This movie has the best action sequences I have ever scene. The camera work is also phenomenal.

“Those who cling to death; live.” “Those who cling to life; die.” Not many series have a perfect final movie and ending but good thing this isn’t one of those series. Genuinely couldn’t wrap it up in a better way. Shoutout the house firefight in the final act with the aerial view. Beautiful.

Iconic John wick movie, great throughout, funny choreography, cheesy lines, inhuman stamina , injuries, and car crashes. I loved every bit of it

The last hour is literally just 3 climax set pieces of action masterclass stitched into one big sequence. How can any action fan not have a smile on their face.

Had to finish it the next morning. Just miscellaneous thoughts. Wow these got too long Wow these fight sequences against goons go on for way too long Ahhh so now John wick is from New York and not Jersey Oh yeah all these movies take places within days of each other Wait is this the first John wick besides 2 without a dog dying ? I see they went for humor in this one Needs way more flavor, get someone…

First, there’s no reason this should be three hours. Second, I chuckled when the DJ said the radio station’s call sign was WUXIA. Third, the entire twenty or thirty minute sequence of Wick fighting his way toward Sacre Coeur is absolutely insane, masterful action filmmaking. Unrelenting forward momentum that brings to mind the hospital climax of Hard-Boiled or the final tanker chase from The Road Warrior. If the movie was just that, I’d give this five stars but the first…

While I’m not overly thrilled with the new tone 3 & 4 went for the franchise, this one has some of the best sequences in it with some solid new cast additions, aside from an underwhelming main villain. Might be my least favorite of the series, but is a good end to it ultimately… but where’s my dragon breath shotgun?
-
K

If I had a nickel for every time that Donnie Yen started in an action movie and played a badass blind man, I’d have two nickels, which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird it happened twice. John Wick: Chapter 4 is easily the best instalment in the franchise for me personally. A lot of the same issues that I had with chapter 3 (see that review) are present here as well, but this film took a step up in so…

Great action, characters, and there honestly isn’t anything bad about this movie. Most of the characters were very likeable and I loved Donnie in this movie, he’s great. This movie also has very good pacing which I like. More development of Winston’s character was shown, and I wasn’t expecting that post credits scene not gonna lie. I hope Caine is alright 😭

Some of the most inventive action put to film. First and last hours are unbelievable. Donnie Yen moves like music.

Loved Donnie Yen in this one! Also surprise Rina Sawayama and Mr. Krabbs appearances! The shots in this one are so good. I especially love th le Hotline Miami homage with that top-down camera! Also Keanu really knows how to fall down stairs. I know I said 3 felt the most video-gamey (slightly derogatory) but this one is even moreso (complimentary). It felt similarly like action sequence “levels” connected by cutscenes in between, but this time around I just found…

Every single fight in this franchise is ESSENTIAL to the story while also telling a smaller story of their own and I think 90% of action films forget that they have to to at least tick one of these boxes. Keanu deserves his praise for training and performing so much of his own fights, every other crew member working on these films deserve every bit of praise ESPECIALLY the stunt team. These films have defined and pushed what modern action movies should be and that they can be absolutely visually stunning.

“Friendship means little when it’s convenient.” This is probably my favourite John Wick since the first one. At this point the story is completely ridiculous, but I honestly don’t care because the action is so damn good. The fight scenes are insane. The Osaka Continental sequence, the Dragon’s Breath shotgun scene and the entire final fight in Paris were all incredible. The overhead shot with the incendiary rounds might be one of the coolest action sequences I’ve seen in the…

Seriyi bitirdik… Japonya…

Yahh, akhirnya menyelesaikan sebuah perjalanan panjang selama 2½ bulan ini. Bakalan kangen sih kalo nyari tontonan lagi. Overall filmnya GILA. BANGET. What a perfect conclusion! Tapi kalo masalah koreografi, TANPA NAPAS TANPA LEPAS TANPA BATAS!!!
-
A
I wasn’t “wowed” by this movie on first viewing, but with subsequent viewings I’ve come to appreciate it. The formulaic execution of the plot glides through an exhibition of standardized sequences that still deliver punch and bravado
