This doc humanised Jeff beautifully. Amazing video footage, handwritten notes, voice recordings and his story told by his family and friends. My only criticism is that I wish they’d have gone a little deeper into the recording session behind ‘Grace’ but it’s satisfying to see what was shown.

J’aurais trop aimé le rencontrer tout simplement. Son âme avait l’air presque poétique c’est magnifique. Je connaissais ses chansons mais pas vraiment l’artiste et ce documentaire est parfaitement réalisé pour lui. Les illustrations avec les images ajoutent vraiment quelque chose d’original. Très émouvant également j’ai l’impression de le connaitre personnellement c’est fou. Pas besoin de connaître l’artiste pour regarder ce documentaire, il est juste exceptionnel. Peut être que c’était justement Jeff Buckley qui était exceptionnel je sais pas. Il inspirait vraiment la bonté, la bienveillance et la reconnaissance de tout c’est époustouflant. Un artiste et un humain par dessus tout admirable.

Did a good job conveying his complexity and talent, only knew him from Hallelujah before this (though did watch with my kid who has his album). His old interviews were more enlightening that the current day stuff. Odd editing choice to make it seem like Aimee Mann just showed up to explain how he blew his shot with her. Didn’t care for the animation. Final voice mail to mom was powerful.
