   “Is this actor right for this role?” This question has never been asked on an Uwe Boll production. But of course, many filmmakers are made to accommodate less-than-ideal casting choices, which typically leads to another question: “How can we best play to this actor’s strengths?” This is question is also rarely asked on Uwe Boll productions. Of all the slumming thespians in this movie, the most creative and committed performance comes from Matthew Lillard, with Ray Liotta coming a close second.

   fulfills its bad movie rep (violently miscast) especially if youre comparing it to lord of the rings like some youtuber but for people like us theres enough deathstalker/wizards of the lost kingdom cannon/corman jism to make a decent lil sword movie

   Starring: The Bold, Bald, Gruff Action Man Jason Statham Statham abandons the streets, the banks, and the dystopian future for something more fanciful in what was undoubtedly one of many films attempting to capitalize on the success of The Lord of the Rings. And I have to say, this is one of the more entertaining I’ve seen. Despite how obvious and bad the special effects are.    One star for Mathew Lillard and Ray Liotta. Bland, endless, and so slavishly copying the ten minutes Dr. Boll seems to have seen of LORD OF THE RINGS that I couldn’t help but laugh every time they cut to a wide aerial shot accompanied by music composed by Howard Shore’s Non-Union equivalent. This was choreographed by Ching Siu-tung (A CHINESE GHOST STORY), but Boll clearly thought he could direct the action because it’s sloppy and all over the place in a way Siu-tung’s action never is, not even in the Steven Seagal film BELLY OF THE BEAST. Like most Boll films, this is not fun in any way.

   How the fuck did this get a $60 million budget? I knew it was going to be awful, but wow, it exceeded my expectations of how bad it could be, it felt like it was 6 hours! 😂

   60 million dollars. 60 MILLION DOLLARS. This is my first watch of a Uwe Boll film. I still can’t find the words to express how I feel about this ‘film’ or Uwe Boll, so excuse me if this is a little disjointed. I’m not usually one to jump on bandwagons but this movie has reduced me to desperation.    So many questions, starting with why Jason Statham had a boomerang. If I didn’t know better, I’d have guessed this was a TV movie. Still, I kind of enjoyed it. Its extreme datedness somehow became part of the charm and even felt a little nostalgic. The fight scenes were solid, and evil Ray Liotta was a lot of fun.

    Notorious for being one of the worst big budget flicks of all time..it lives up to it to say the least. The script is abysmal, the plot? What plot?? It looks awful. The action is mediocre at best. Let’s get into the cast… Jason Statham plays a farmer named…Farmer. 🤔 Ray Liotta is some type of wizard…. BURT REYNOLDS?!?! Mathew Lillard is here, Ron Pearlman and Leelee Sobieski are too. Sound weird? Does a fantasy epic with any of these folks make sense? I don’t think Jason Statham has strayed from a mercenary or a rogue hitman or cop since. Rightfully so dude. Stick to your strengths. I can’t even defend my man Ray Liotta who I Stan for constantly.
