   So exuberant and full of life that it would probably convince you the movies were back even if they hadn’t gone anywhere, “In the Heights” is the kind of electrifying theatrical experience that people have been waxing nostalgic about ever since the pandemic began — the kind that it almost seemed like we might never get to enjoy again.     This movie was really done a disservice by my AC which drowned out a mobie meant to be heard. The music is beautiful, the movie as a whole was Very theatrical, and i loved the little Hamilton easter egg with the hold music.

    this was SO much fun! the music, dancing, colours, choreography — everything is just bursting with energy. i loved how alive the whole film felt, like every street corner had a story happening in it. also the songs have been stuck in my head ever since, so thanks for that. such a feel-good film with a lot of heart, and i genuinely had such a good time watching it.

    movies like this make me wish I grew up surrounded by my people and members of my own community. they make me yearn for life in a collectivist society where everyone looks after one another and they go outside and dance and sing under the sun to restore hope and faith into people’s hearts in the midst of despair. man I’m still searching for my washington heights

    Rip Inùtil and Enough (Camila entirely) Very good Film adaptation but a lot of changes that affected the plot not entirely for the better still a very fun watch

    I watched the musical before seeing the movie. As a stand-alone movie it’s good, but going from the original production to this was kind of disappointing? I liked that they modernized the issues that are dealt with to make it more relevant to when it released, but some of the creative liberties they took also kind of shot them in the foot.
