   the conceit of this movie is gross and like… extremely incorrect lol. confidence may change how others treat you i guess but if you inhabit a truly non-normative body it rly doesnt matter how you feel about yourself. people will still treat you like you’re an ugly piece of shit! which i guess is.. kind of the point, because the subtext of every interaction amy schumer has with a hotter, thinner white woman is one of perplexed mockery (how could someone who is so clearly hideous believe she could ever be anything else? that’s the whole entire joke of the whole entire movie!) which, ime, is pretty accurate. but i’m not sure how that fits into a comedy film where…

    a movie focused on celebrating those women who don’t fit into conventional beauty standards through the power of giant capitalist corporations that help create the toxic standards of beauty this film’s railing against. also those women being celebrated? all cis, mostly white women, the only women who are worth celebrating are ones that fit into this narrow view of womanhood that the film should be opposing. despite its pretences, this film is only for women that are traditionally acceptable. this is some terf ass bullshit. plus the only remotely queer people in the movie are used for a punchline so that you can laugh at drunk amy schumer. this makes the world a worse place. also it’s seven hours long

    This movie has been in my watchlist for such a long time. And I can tell that it was worth it, no but honestly it such a confidence builder movie just how they used to do it back then.     fucking phenomenal. this movie is everything i stand for as a person and the mc reminded me so much of my true authentic self. also just because the actress isn’t “fat enough” doesn’t mean she wasn’t ment for this role the idea that you have to be fat enough to feel insecure is weird. this movie made me completely more confident it’s one of my favorites.

     Lol i know a lot of people shit on Amy Schumer and her humor, but i think this is the only good movie from her. It’s just a light-hearted and fun movie. I see no harm, and it serves its purpose well. Definitely in a rewatching, cozy, guilty pleasure type of film lol. I had fun :3
