Honestly. Rob zombie could be very tightly considered style over substance but… I mean it’s nice to see someone with a style at this point. When you see a Rob Zombie movie you know it is a rob zombie movie. Like it or hate it he is distinctive and that has become somewhat rare as the century has progressed.

A fun house mirror version of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre. Reminds me of something you would catch on TV late at night on Halloween. Also, one of two of the only good movies Rob Zombie ever made.

Quite literally the perfect Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3 – building on 2’s wierdo sexuality and colorful camp-horror, while also returning to 1’s filthy, rotten psychosis. I mean, Choptop literally wears a skin-suit! Insane I never saw this before now! Spalding’s and the catacombs are Texas Battle Land/the gas station… Bubba’s been horribly burned, and emaciated, from the explosion… Choptop’s got a wicked new wig… even Grandpa’s doin’ better!

It had some upsides and downsides. I liked all the blood, and thr unique torture the people inflicted on their victims. I also liked the clown attraction place as well as its owner. Its refreshing seeing a movie where none of the victims survive. The story, however, seemed half-baked. Why were there people underground? Why were they full of bloodlust? I’m guessing that maybe they were the corpses…? The editing was interesting, unfortunately though, it’s pacing was butchered.

I can’t believe how much I loved this film. It’s exactly what I’ve been looking for. The overall aesthetic was insane, and using heavy metal riffs in a horror movie worked way better than it has any right to. It felt like I was 8 watching Scooby-Doo again. So fucking glad I watched this.

Lembrei do Massacre da Serra Elétrica já nos primeiros minutos, a referência é bem direta. A ambientação é muito marcante, junto com os personagens da família Firefly, que são ótimos e ficam na cabeça muito mais do que os protagonistas. A direção frenética (que faz parecer um clipe de música em muitos momentos) me incomoda um pouco, mas definitivamente é inconfundível! Não recomendo se tiver labirintite.

This is the sort of movie that makes a shower feel like a reasonable next activity. The personal drama gives the horror more weight than I expected. It has enough going for it to survive the weaker parts.
