Hacksaw Ridge might be the most realistic portrayal of War ever put on screen. Mel Gibson proves once again that he is a legitimate top-notch director. This film is incredibly well made. Every aspect of this movie is impressive. The performances. The visuals. The battle scenes. The story. The characters. You name it, and this movie does it well. The man deserves a Best Director nom! If Andrew Garfield isn’t AT LEAST nominated for an Oscar, it will be a travesty. This is Andrew Garfield’s movie, but aside from him I was most impressed with Vince Vaughn. I’ve never seen him take on a roll like this and I think he pretty much knocked it out of the park. He…

Forgive Me Lord, For I Have Sinned. Regrettably, I Howled Of Laughter When Andrew Garfield Had To Drag Vince Vaughn Around On The Battlefield On The Back Of A Bit Of Cloth Because His Legs No Longer Worked But Vince Was Still Sitting Up And Shooting The Shit Out Of People While Andrew Yanked Him Wildly Through The Mud I’m So Sorry Lord I Know War Is Bad And Mel Gibson Is The Devil But It Was So Funny

Textbook melodrama about reconciling our will to do good with our ability to inflict harm until suddenly it’s a grindhouse picture about reconciling our ability to do good with our will to inflict brutal fucking savagery… Only a complete and total psychopath who loves violence but knows he should probably be ashamed of that could’ve made this. Respect.

sepanjang nonton nangis liat perjuangan Doss. dari diremehin sampe dihormatin karna perjuangan nyelametin 75 nyawa. tiap dia ngomong “Lord, please help me get one more” ga bisa nahan nangis. dan walau ayahnya ga mau anaknya jadi tentara dia tetap mendukung keinginan anaknya, bgtu juga Dorothy. ini bakal jadi film Favorit sih.

Lord, please help me get one more. This line itself was the testimony of this movie. It’s an autobiographical movie and it was delivered well. Andrew played Desmond Doss exceptionally well. It made me cry and see a different perspective of war. It was heartwarming to see that your beliefs can help people—save people. Some hate on this movie, but this is worth a watch.

this is with out a doubt the best war movie put on the big screen, this is exactly how i would invasion war. the writing of this movie is so good with such perfectly written dialogue. as a christian this movie hits different with what it teaches you. this also reminds me how good andrew garfield is his versiltly is insane, spider man, boss in social network, in a musical and this is by far his best performance. 100% deserved that oscar and idk how he lost, 10/10 top 10 movie ever

“One more. Help me get one more.” – Desmond Doss Usually I’m pretty cynical about WWI/WWII films that are all about condemning said war, not because I disagree with the messaging, but because I think there’s not much new material to work with. However, this movie really surprised me! I really liked how inspirational the movie was, and Doss’ conviction to his faith and his determination to save everyone he could really hit hard for me for some reason. The…

Seems crazy that this was the best tactic they had to take the ridge- having everyone climb up and down the 200 foot cliff wall. Even more so with only months left in the war. But apparently it is true. Puts into perspective how much worse the invasion of Japan could have been. Desmond Doss is definitely an American hero, more than they could show in the movie- after he was put in the stretcher in the end, he even demanded that they take another more wounded soldier before him. Wow!

2 Chronicles 20:15 “Thus saith the LORD unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s.” And boy, did God really fight that battle for my boy! Desmond T. Doss was the greatest example of God’s faith in action. In a recovery mission, where he should’ve been blown to smithereens, he survived. Triumphantly. Glowing with the grace and strength of God. It hurt me to see the moments…

“One more… Help me get one more…” sözsüz ki,”Hacksaw Ridge” adi bir müharibə filmdən daha artığıdı. bir insanın dəyər verdiyi hər şeylə sınanmasını bizə göstərən və hiss etdirən əsərdi.inancı,sevgisi,səbri,cəsarəti… real hadisələrə əsaslanması isə onu 10 qat daha təsirli edir. Mel Gibson və Andrew Garfield’ə isə böyük alqış düşür. p.s Andrew çilavek paukda qəhraman deyildi, burdaydı.

I have been wanting to rewatch this movie for ages, and even more so in the last half a year. Every time I sit down to watch a movie I have been meaning to rewatch this. Well, I stood up and looked at my bookshelf where I have my Blu-Rays and fanned through until I saw this. Thought to myself, “Andrew Garfield is in this. What a fantastic reason to watch a movie.’ Still great. Glad I rewatched. Andrew is excellent. Everybody else does a good job, too. Hugo Weaving being the other standout. bien chida la escena de Doss bajando raza, peak de la pelicula las peliculas sobre guerras que sucedieron en la vida real me dan mucha curiosidad porque las que he visto son hell yeah viva america y siempre ganan y dios nos ayudó a ganar la guerra y todo eso pero que sentirán x ejemplo los japoneses viendo esta peli y pensando que se equivocaron d religión o algo así jajajs no se crean pero sí está curioso ese tema buena pelicula y se ve que el Desmond Doss de la vida real era un excelente sujeto

Movie with nice philosophy. Scenes of war be very good and realist. We have a good story.
-
T
Visually impressive, but contradictory—a brutal spectacle celebrating war over reflecting on it. The melodramatic opening is saved by strong staging. Otherwise, it’s a visually striking thrill ride with great performances in the battle scenes. Still, the film preaches pacifism while reveling in slow-mo gore. Worse, Japanese forces are reduced to racist stereotypes.

This story shows that we don’t need any gun or weapon to become a hero, specially in a war. Desmond.T.Dess is the main lead of this story who becomes first non – violent soldier in the US Army, he has always been supported by his wife, Dorothy. This movie is so inspiring as Desmond risks his life while using only his wisdom to save his acquaintances after joining to the army with so much struggles and body shames. Indeed a must watch as this is not typical war movie you would see.
