I ugly sobbed. I love this movie so fucking much. It’s a top 3 MCU movie for me and I could watch it a million times without getting tired of it. I will be making a video about why this is a perfect sequel, don’t you worry.

Did you like the first one? This is funnier, weirder, way more visually idiosyncratic, doesn’t end with a poorly-edited fistfight or ship smashing into a city, and has generous helpings of Kurt Russell and Fleetwood Mac.

the russos on winter soldier: “idk where we’re going with the scarlett/chris friendship but let’s throw in a kiss because a kiss is fun” james gunn on guardians 2: “and here gamora reveals her love for peter, but we didn’t want to do it with a short lustful moment like a kiss, we wanted to do it through a moment of friendship because that’s what their love is rooted in, and this way it’s much deeper than a kiss would ever be.”

the first one was bad. this one is very, very good. even the fucking bradley cooper raccoon is tolerable. a Marvel movie with actual emotion and shot compositions that don’t look like they were determined by a computer (even if everything *in* them was)! i don’t make the rules, people. down is the new up.

Had a friend say this was trash It’s okay to be completely wrong sometimes This movie has the most heart and soul in the marvel universe. It’s gorgeously written and extremely powerful

87 Setting: Marvel Board Meeting Kevin: “And then I said, we already put in 3 end-credits scenes, how about 2 more?!?” *eruptive laughter* Marvel Exec #2: “You’re such a card, Kevin.” Kevin: “These movies don’t make themselves!” Marvel Exec #3: “Well I mean they kinda do. That’s why we installed that conveyer belt in northern Idaho and everything.” Kevin: “You got me there!” *Meeting Room door opens* Kevin: “Well look who it is, our crazy director intern, come in James.” Marvel Exec #4: “Excuse me, Kevin, but who is this?” Kevin: “This, ladies and gentlemen, was the director on Guardians of the Galaxy, a movie which we allowed to be somewhat creative and it payed off! I bought my sixth…

more interesting plot than Guardians 1, 5 minutes of Groot dancing… I understand the whole movie is a comendy but there are a lot of moments where they go overboard with the jokes, They really had to show that the strippers are robots lol, Why the hell does that one random Ravenger guy eat a spider? Why hasnt Nebula killed Yondu and Rocket in the forest when she had thr chance? Ravengers really left Groot to walk alone in the…

I don’t really know how to feel about this movie. There are some amazing moments, but also forgettable ones. Even though I’m not a huge fan of the humor in the guardians movies, it was vastly improved here, and the way the jokes were used worked a lot better for me. (Anything that came out of Drax’s mouth was gold.) The needle drops were also another improvement over the first one in my opinion. While ego isn’t a great villain,…

this movie literally has everything: found family, funny moments that honestly made me laugh out loud several times, drama, kickin’ soundtrack, and a little sadness to round it out i fear i am not moving fast enough in my mcu rewatch before doomsday, but i appreciate this rewatch for bringing me back to the really good mcu movies like this one!

F
baby groot is genuinely doing about 90% of the work here 😭 i love how colourful this film is and every planet feels like its own weird little universe. the soundtrack is obviously perfect and i really like this group together, even when they’re all being incredibly annoying. not my favourite marvel film but definitely one of the most fun to look at.

Sometimes, what you’re looking for everywhere is already right beside you :). Finally, Peter Quill finds his “father”… at the beginning, he was confused, but then he started believing in him. But like we know, Ego’s plan was to work with Peter to activate the seeds he planted and expand himself across the universe, he manipulates Peter until he reveals the reason why his mother died; Ego put the tumor in her head… and then, he realizes all of the…

This is the worst MCU movie, the d*ck jokes from drax, but Yondu’s death is really good tho, And Ego is fine.

Eh with the villain again. Cool concept but the whole “I’m gonna destroy everything and rebuild it again” is kinda worn out. Cool to see Peter as a god for a few minutes. Could’ve technically been up there in power with Thor when they eventually end up meeting. The second movie in a trilogy often ends up being the most disappointing, with the Iron Man and Thor trilogies being two of the quickest ones that come to mind. In the…

I was pretty disappointed with this film. The plot is really weak and feels unnecessary. It’s just not a story that needed to be told. At no point was it able to hold my interest. The villain is uninteresting and his motives are super cliché. I also found Chris Pratt’s performance a bit odd. As for the positives, Yondu’s character arc, I think, is the best thing this movie has to offer. The film is also visually eye-catching from beginning to end, and the way the music is integrated is really effective.

Dude this movie is BETTER than the first one by far imo. Yondu dying is so sad bro and the dynamic they have is just perfection. Jaw dropped at the tumor part on my first watch😭
-
O
Me dió humor, visuales, pelea, y groot chiquito.

G

Give groot a lollipop and a stuffed animal and I will give it 5 stars (just finished the end credits scene, I take it back)

melhor do que o roteiro do primeiro, drax e groot vocês me deixam encantada

Somehow managed to get a better soundtrack than the first one. The opening scene is just incredible and the movie is much more enjoyable since the teams already together.

S
9.8

J
Yondu is so goated. Hot take but this movie is much better than the first. Much funnier, better action, and in my opinion better story. Soundtrack was just as good, idk what it is with this franchise but they choose the best songs.
-
📸
Out of all the people to make me cry, I didn’t think Yondu would be it. These films are just great, and there’s no other arguement about it. Baby Groot carried this movie, and I need him to have his own full length feature film. Also starring Rocket of course. I also love the introduction of Mantis, she’s a very interesting character and the whole empathy thing is very intriguing!! I forgot to log this, but I did watch this earlier today. I was too excited to watch I Am Groot I guess.

MCU DOOMSDAY REWATCH MARATHON I actually think this is better than the first one. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Is bigger, funnier, and surprisingly more emotional. The first movie was mostly about bringing this group together, while this one actually explores why they stay together and what they mean to each other. The character work is easily the best part. Rocket and Yondu especially get so much more depth, and their stories hit way harder than I expected. Peter…

Amazing double feature with the roommates. This movie has so much nostalgia. I love the Guardians.
