Somebody got some Possession chocolate in my kaiju peanut butter. The boy is obsessed with Gamera, this period, and this movie especially. He gives it a thousand stars. The girl declines to rate it because maybe she is like her dad and doesn’t think art should be rated…? Or maybe she just doesn’t want to be like her brother.

The End of Evangelion of Tokusatsu. And ten years later when Anno himself recreated the Mortal Kombat fatality that Gamera performs on Iris for the Third Impact scene in Evangelion 2.0, it came full circle (fun fact Anno was actually on set during most of this movie and even made a small docu using the behind the scenes footage he shot: youtu.be/d1ZP71_OQVo ) My favorite thing about this trilogy is how entirely different each one feels from another. Gamera was such an innocent creature and a force of good in the previous two movies so the absolute BALLS on the filmmakers to change his design, make him more demonic looking and straight up turn him into an almost anti-hero figure…

Gammerah, Guardian of earth and lover of children Almost there. A few years after I had discovered the existence of the King of the Monsters I vividly remember scouring the web for more giant behemoths much like himself in the hopes to satiate my ever new found growing hunger. This evidently would lead to the discovery of other such beings such as Ultraman, Kamen RIder, Monster X, and especially Gamera, which is what I want to talk about real quick. During the middle stage of my childhood, while I was searching, typing and watching vasours clips of kaiju and toku heroes duking it out against each other I stumbled upon a clip called “Gamera: Revenge of Iris- Forest scene.” The…

A Walk Amongst Monsters #72 “I Will Not Forgive Gamera” I’ve written and deleted multiple openings to this review because I can’t think of a proper way to begin my thoughts on this incredible masterpiece. All I can think off is… this film fucks so hard. There’s ending a trilogy on a high note, then there’s ending it on Revenge of Iris. An absolute sucker punch of a film that raises the stakes in every conceivable way. It’s darker, more mature, brings back characters from previous films with added development, has the coolest Kaiju ever to face Gamera, and comes full circle with the first film heavily impacting this one. Ayana watched as her parents were killed by Gamera during…

With the highest average ratings of the trilogy, many people claim this one is the best of the 90’s Gamera trilogy. I somewhat disagree. It may have the deepest plot and the greatest number of human characters, but there’s much less action in this chapter than in the previous installment. I’m a fan of these flicks primarily for the Kaiju action, not this over-deep drama that we see in this one. This flick is still better than most of what Daiei produced in the Showa era and is surely entertaining for Kaiju fans, but honestly I enjoyed the first two films of the trilogy quite a bit more as they simply had more action and suspense and less drama. Kaiju…

The Heisei Gamera trilogy are some of the best kaiju movies ever and Gamera 3: Revenge of Iris is the best of the three! The story is compelling, the human characters, particularly Ayana Hirasaka, are great, the cinematography is beautiful, and the kaiju action is awesome! I also love the characterization of the kaiju themselves. Gamera has kind of gone insane from the fights with Gyaos and Legion, becoming increasingly violent. That scene where the Gyaos crash-lands and his eyeball is hanging out really sticks out to me as one of the most brutal things I have ever seen in a kaiju movie. However, despite all of this, Gamera is still the good guy, as he fights for humanity and…

I am seriously pissed off that it took me this long to discover this trilogy. When I think of all the wasted years I could have been watching this, it makes my blood boil. Why?! Why did nobody tell me sooner, that Gamera kicks every bit as much ass as Godzilla, and that Shusuke Kaneko is a gift from the kaiju gods? I’m also pissed that Kaneko didn’t direct more of these. Although, I suppose it would have been difficult to keep it up. These films get better at an exponential rate. I mean, the first part of this trilogy is great but, by the end of part three, you’ll be scraping your brains off the wall behind you. I’m…

KAIJULY: GAMERA, THE MIGHTY TURTLE That scene with Iris whipping his tentacles or whatever in the sky set with that massive explosion in the background is why Kaiju cinema was made. Everything about this feels so epic. Iris is such a boss. We keep the whole religious-ish theme now with demonic possessions. Gamera looks dope; at this point it’s hard to deny they were embracing his inner Gojiself. That whole third act with those closeups, him roaring in anger as he’s about to face his foe. Badass stuff. The practical gooey gore and all in that third act. Massive flamethrower in that building. The roaring score and sound effects heighten every single thing in this film; my table was literally trembling. Cinematography is still very good, if not even better. The best and final movie in the trilogy really out here addressing our selfish need to be saved instead of wanting to save others. Accepting responsibility for what we can and cannot control. Finding resolve when confronted with the manifestation of our insecurities. Oh, and turtle power saves the day. Giant monsters be cool. Gamera is a true hero. Kaiju Ranking

Grief is a monster. A film about perspectives. A crushingly realistic depiction of the impact a kaiju fight would have on the city in which it takes place, and the aftermath of said fight. How much force would Gamera’s shell-spin exert? How much destruction would Gamera cause by simply landing in a city? What does the chaos of a kaiju fight look like from street level? After Gamera defeats another kaiju, what does the death count look like? How many…

This film is a beautiful masterpiece and one of the best final installments to any trilogy ever. The way this film perfectly balances themes such as human’s natural selfish desire to be saved instead of saving others, our ability to confront a manifestation of our deepest insecurities, and how truly toxic and destructive the thirst for revenge can be. This film completely rocked the Kaiju genre in ways that are still felt today 27 years later. This film set a new standard and my god did it kick ass doing it.

This one is decent. I still like 2 better. It starts off okay. Then it slows down for a while then picks up around the third act. It tries to bring in characters I didn’t find all that interesting. It was mostly characters from the previous movies that were still interesting. I was bummed they didn’t have nearly as many practical effects as the previous 2. Sometimes the cg works but there are plenty of times Iris looks like butt…

Why is this trilogy so great? Only real negative I had was that some shots of Iris was weirdly bad and looked out of place. Other than that it’s so great. We get to see the side of people who are hatred towards Gamera due to his destructive fights. We see his beginning fights with Gyaos causes so much calamity and deaths. Gameras fight with Iris was so cool both in air and on land and Ayana’s relationship towards Iris…

Besides the top Godzilla movie like the original 1954 film, Shin, and Minus One, the is by far the best Kaiju film I have ever seen. I love the final fight that’s close quarters and over the shoulder. The director also did a fantastic job with creating scale with the kaiju that few godzilla films actually fully attempt or just take for granted.

It literally takes an entire hour to get to any kaiju action, but that last half hour is fuckin awesome and worth the wait. The ’90s have done this franchise so many favors. I love the ’90s aesthetics and feel, I love the effects work, and the CGI is pretty damn decent and rather charming. The human back story also has some emotional weight to it too. Personally, I like Attack Of Legion more, but this was still a really good movie regardless. Top tier Gamera content. GAMERA: Ranked

Shunsuke Kaneko’s Gamera trilogy ends with a dark, gritty revenge film. Some of the most hardcore shit I’ve seen in a kaiju movie, peak cinema.

Family movie night—Yep! Still the greatest kaiju film out there! Had to narrator the movie because we couldn’t find an English dub for the kiddos but that didn’t stop the enjoyment one ounce. The most mature, serious, darkest, well-crafted kaiju film ever. Love it.

A perfect end to this trilogy, it’s beautiful, brutal, and emotional. Gamera brings unmatched energy to battle, and a deep care for humanity that you can often see in his eyes, his portrayal here might be the most expressive a kaiju has ever been. This film also continues the trilogy’s habit of AMAZING shot composition, it feels rooted in the days of 50s technicolor, with wonderful contrasts and blocking. The blend of practical and CG works surprisingly well too, God bless you Shinji Higuchi.

DREAMCAST CINEMA Director Shusuke Kaneko totally ups his game the third time around. Gamera 3: Revenge of Iris is a wonderfully stylish, dark, and at times meta monster movie. Every scene is filmed like a music video from 1999. While most will probably praise the gloriously violent monster carnage, my favorite scene is when the main character (one of many. Revenge of Iris suffers from way too many characters, subplots, and convoluted lore) uses a Sega Dreamcast to advance the plot and its shot in a fish-eye lens style.

Whoa. This thing is literally jaw dropping. The violence. The way this movie dwells on the deaths of innocent people, even making it a main theme. Just a lot of bold genre subversions, yet at the same time the effects are as good as it gets for this genre. I might be overrating this a tad because, I just got through a stretch that included that insipid 90’s Mothra trilogy, the fascinating but genuinely bad 98 Hollywood Godzilla, not to…

“Gamera is our friend, you know!” “Would you say that if he’d crushed your house and your parents?” There’s an undeniable gulf between Gamera’s Shōwa and Heisei interpretations. A dissonance between Noriaki Yuasa’s conception of a Barney the Dinosaur that throws motherfucking hands, and Shūsuke Kaneko’s vision of an ancient spiritual weapon defending the Earth whether we want it to or not. A shift from courting the least discerning children in a 1965 where Godzilla was King, to courting the…

Gamera is my guy and this rips. When he blasts his own hand off to keep fighting Iris? Woooooo man! This one was gross, lots of icky material and I dig just how it continues right after the first two. This is clearly a trilogy with a through line. The locations of each of the movies echo a different aspect/idea that each deals with. Here we take the action to Kyoto, the Old Capital, a more historic feeling place that echoes the plotlines about guardians, shrines, and magatamas, etc. So happy to have met and found my friend Gamera. Looking forward to more!

The Gamera Heisei is one of the greatest trilogies in film. Very few have this kind of consistent quality, making it also some of the best in the Kaiju film genre. With that said I’ve rewatched Revenge of Iris the least of the three films, it’s not bad it’s just I enjoy the other two much more. But it’s growing on me when I do rewatch it, I love a lot of this film. The puppet and suits look…

Gamera is for the…children? I completely understand why this has the reputation as one of, if not the, best Kaiju films. This is so dark, honestly probably not ok for children, but everything is just buoyed by this apocalyptic weight – with the previous two films just feeding into a full blooded blockbuster nail biter. This is a horror! Some of the CG in this is clearly dated, but the practical effects come in when needed to bring everything back.…

Finally finished the Heisei Gamera trilogy and what a high note to end on. Overall, I enjoyed this entry, though I’m baffled at the folks saying it clears the entirety of Heisei Godzilla. Really? Biollante? King Ghidorah? Destoroyah? I don’t think so. Seeing the comparisons to Evangelion, I admit I was a little letdown that all the sequences that draw that comparison were done in aged (yet ambitious) CGI. It’s still serviceable, considering the era, but it is glaring. I…

“Gamera vai lutar. Até o fim, mesmo sozinho” GUARDIÃO ABSOLUTO DO UNIVERSO. No começo do filme achei que o vilão ia ser um gato. Realmente o que vai te fazer amar ou odiar um kaiju é em cima de quem o pé dele está. Totalmente compreensível o ódio ao Gamera e totalmente admirável o propósito dele proteger a todos.

This trilogy has been amazing. The CGI isn’t horrible but is definitely a step down from the practical effects, made quite obvious when they go from one scene to another with CGI to the next with practical effects. But Ayana, the angry emo counter to Asagi , was cool. Gamera looked great as always and the movie ended with me really wanting more.

This movie has maybe the best cinematography from a suitmation kaiju movie I’ve ever seen. This trilogy is so fucking incredible and it pains me that we’ll probably never see something like this from Kaiju movies again 😭🔥🔥

Yet again, the Gamera trilogy establishes itself as the best 1, 2, 3 in kaiju history. Absolutely phenomenal work here. Approaches kaiju cinema in ways we haven’t really seen. All the more shocking too, that the director of this trilogy would go on to make an extremely sub-par Godzilla movie.

I liked the goop and the gore. The rest of it? Ehh. At one point a character asks why giant monsters keep attacking Japan. THAT’S WHAT I’VE BEEN SAYING THIS WHOLE TIME!

T
Quality, relatively competent Gamera like its predecessors and that alone gives it a sheen of enjoyability, but loses out in comparison as the worst and most inconsequential of the trilogy. Recycles great elements of the first such as Gyaos and the kaiju priestess, but doesn’t build upon either all that much. Iris was cool as hell, both the practical effects baby Iris version and the CGI phosphorescent monster version. (That said, this also uses too much CGI and would have…

This is probably the most brutal of the 90’s Gamera series. Both in it’s grimmer storyline and the sheer brutality of its fights. Monster limbs flying and eyeballs beaten out of sockets It tackles the ramifications of what if there actually was a giant monster for years stomping on your cities. What would be the impact and would people develop a hatred for the collateral damage caused? Iris as an antagonist, being a physical manifestation of such a hatred and…

shinji get in the disgusting, eldritch, kaiju gamera in this installment reminded me a lot of daimajin in the first daimajin movie, gamera is less of a protector/defender and more of a force of balance. black and white, good and evil… gamera is balancing the scales and purging evil no matter the cost, gamera is singleminded in his goal and decimates entire city blocks in his pursuit. also as basically every review has mentioned, this film is very evagelion coded……

What is the cost of achieving victory? Or revenge? These are the questions Gamera 3: Revenge of Iris asks and doesn’t fully answer. That job is put into the hands of the viewer. Gamera’s campaigns against the Gyaos and Legion left scars on the Japanese that some cannot heal from. Iris is the embodiment of those scars. This is a villain that, unlike Gamera’s past foes, isn’t hell bent on world domination or the destruction of the human race. Iris and…

This movie is very very odd. Gamera’s big third outing is a very dark, almost too dark take on the big turtle. This very violent affair tackling deep traumas around losing people to a big kaijuu attack. The human side of things is interesting as it’s about this girl who lost her family to Gamera in an accident. She hates him now, and through her miserable life comes into contact with a being called Iris. Iris siphon her energy to…

This is what I wanted. We finally get some backstory for Gamera explaining his abilities and role on our planet, but I love that it’s revealed in a way that contrasts what we’ve seen on screen. Parts of Gamera 3: Revenge of Iris are told through the perspective of a grief-stricken child who lost her parents during one of Gamera’s battles, and the film explores a complexity within the human characters and the beloved large turtle that we’ve never seen…

Kaiju Mega-Marathon II #28 (#61) Just as I thought/hoped, Gamera 3 makes me retroactively appreciate the first two films in the trilogy more, as it pulls on a lot of the narrative threads established in the earlier installments and reintroduces a lot of the characters from the first film in a way that feels natural and like it’s continuing/completing their character arcs. The end result is a really narratively satisfying film that, like Godzilla vs. Destoroyah, feels like a nice…

Ganze Stadtteile stehen in Flammen. Ein Mond, der im Nachthimmel unberührt Kenntnis von den Geschehnissen auf der Erde nimmt. This movie is so awesome. Let me talk about the selling point, Ayana hating Gamera, I believe that alone makes this movie absolutely perfect. For the last two movies, Gamera was viewed as a hero for the people, which of course he is. But, for our main protagonist to genuinely hate him to the point she raises a Kaiju to kill him, just fantastic. Iris easily has one of my favorite kaiju designs ever, second to Godzilla’s design in “Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla”. This trilogy absolutely slaps man, not a single bad movie. Revenge of Iris is easily the best one though, just a fantastic movie.

Hmm actually this is flawless and my new favorite kaiju movie Seriously though fuck Kadokawa. Shusuke Kaneko has wanted to make more Gamera for the past 20+ years and they keep saying they don’t have the money for it (despite funding a new Daimaijin???). I would gladly sacrifice my firstborn for more.

Unfortunately I’m not quite sure what to think of this one. It just didn’t resonate with me as much as the two previous films. It’s somewhat underwhelming. The character drama feels rather messy and unfocused. Gamera is barely present a lot of the time. I don’t really vibe with Iris’ design except for the head and wings. And the kaiju fighting is rare and presented with oddly disorienting camerawork. Not to mention a huge overuse of poorly aged blue-screen. I…

A masterful finale to the heisei trilogy, so good that it makes up for all of the mediocre showa era movies. I wish to start by reviewing the kaiju designs, I found them all amazing, it had my favourite Gamera design of the franchise and Iris looked beautiful even the Gyaos’s looked good in their own creepy way. I also adore the story in this film, the whole concept of Iris being raised by a casualty of gamera was so…

An all timer as far as kaiju movies go really. A little girl loses her family during a kaiju battle. She hates Gamera with every ounce of her being. A few years later she’s adjusting to her new life with the foster family. She meets a little critter in the woods & feeds it with that hate. She names the critter Iris after the family cat that Gamera crushed to death. You’re kinda rooting for the little girl & her pet monster…

An incredible finisher to the Heisei Gamera trilogy. Puts the trilogy up there as one of the best series of kaiju films. Some of the most brutal kaiju moments you’ll see, well done miniatures, and love the cliffhanger at the end! My favorite design of the giant turtle!

This movie is something special. I went in just expecting another super solid Kaiju movie but I came out with feelings I haven’t felt about a Kaiju movie since Godzilla vs. Destrroyah. This movie has some of the best human story I’ve seen in a kaiju film since honestly the original Godzilla or minus one. (Might be recency bias and/or the fact Gamera is my favorite movie monster) Finally the disgn of the monsters in this movie are the Pinnacle of Kaiju charecter design. Iris is such a cool villain and of course the guardian of the universe gamera in his grittiest look yet

Still pretty good, cool villain and premise in this. The way gamera ends this fight is sick, plasma hand is badass. I love that this film doesn’t shy away from leaning into blood and violence. Also his flying is cool, and the fact he was way more brutal in killing people. Also his best design is in this, and the monsters just look good in this. There’s this close up on them and I was just like wow it looks…

This movie fucks so fucking hard. Iris is undoubtedly one of the coolest Kaiju ever, and Gamera is a fucking swiss army knife of cool ass Kaiju powers. “Gamera will fight, even alone” so fucking happy that I’ve finally come back to this movie. The end-all-be-all of kaiju movies and maybe one of the best trilogy cappers in history. An essentially perfect mix of practical and digital effects while also packing a fantastic story about grief, anger and how those things make us deeply vulnerable. Gamera is barely even in this movie (which makes his appearances all the more impactful) and I love how his characterization in this toes the line of being his typical caring self with an almost hateful indifference towards humanity. Truly one of my favorites of all time.

“During World War II, most of the adults I knew, including many of my teachers, continually stressed the importance of nationalism. However, after Japan was defeated and many political parties were formed, a teacher of mine switched from being a nationalist to a Communist and then started openly advocating Communism. You can’t keep a good turtle down. Budget feels higher than the first two, and it leans a lot heavier on CGI for the fights between Gamera and Iris, but for its age the quality of animation is great, the whole thing is shot really well, and the finale involves a guy in a suit gutpunching another guy in a suit and ripping his insides out, and that’s what kaiiju movies are all about.

The best of the trilogy, but I find there’s more to talk about with this one. It takes itself more seriously than the first two, and it’s more plot heavy which has its benefits but also has its deficits. It makes you wait longer for the action, and the script has minor issues. The villain had potential to add to the story and create a cool dichotomy being the devil on Ayana’s shoulder, but her and her weird boyfriend are…

Gamera 1999: The Absolute Guardian of the Universe 3/3 on the films comprising this trilogy being better than I remembered and/or hitting harder. Being from 1999, some CGI was utilized, which allowed for a more complex hentai/Pokémon hybridized monster, but hasn’t all aged well. Some of it is pretty sick, and it was very top notch for its time. There’s plenty of practical fun to be had, especially in the exceptionally gory finale where two incredible creature-suits go bananas destroying…

Exceptional. The pivot to a much more intimate story was a bold choice, but it absolutely works for the conclusion of this trilogy. These movies are at their best when the kaiju action is more of a backdrop for the main narrative. And the kaiju action in this, while not as prevalent as in the previous installments of the trilogy, is some the best there is

And that’s the Kaneko trilogy of Gamera movies complete! What a trilogy. I absolutely loved this. It has the best story of the three, certainly the most layered in terms of lore and themes. The only thing that keeps me from giving this 5 stars is the more frequent use for CGI. I’m not totally against CGI, and the previous film used it sparingly, but this definitely leans on it more than it needs to, especially given it hasn’t aged…

Genuinely the perfect blend of weird creepy kaiju stuff that I love. The uncanny 90s cgi, weird monster noises, phenomenal effects, a decent human story at the center, and a dash of tragic complexity in Iris’/Ayana’s intensions make it work all so good together. Also, oh the blood and gore; the viscera! It was all so deliciously good and uncomfortable in all the right ways. Genuinely I love the vibe this whole Gamera trilogy was going for. This kind of weird melancholic and unnerving creature feature is my jam… …Evangelion and its consequences on the psyche I suppose…and I wouldn’t have it any other way ❤️

I think the movie should’ve only had Gamera and Iris because the Gyaos felt like an afterthought. We don’t see Gamera fight them in the end, so they should’ve cut them out of the film. However, it doesn’t stop Gamera 3 from being a fantastic kaiju movie. 8/10.

Strongest in the trilogy. Really interesting premise, still drags abit in the middle, but the last fight is so fcking rad.

1990’s Gamera outpaced Godzilla in every way by focusing on the characters over the spectacle, rather than the other way around. This is fantastic.

Rewatch. Kaijune. The Pinnacle of Kaiju Cinema. Still mindblowing. Even Godzilla fans acknowledge and bow to this trilogy. It’s that of a masterpiece. While there is a bigger story being told off-screen, you already have a clear picture on what is going on based on what was established in the first movie. From being a creature created by an advanced lost civilization, to savior of humanity… The titular character here shows a different, anti-hero side that just enriches the story.…

SOOOO MUCH CGI! Parts of this were epic, and i love that they are leaning heavy into the telepathic connections. Iris was wild as hell, and i loved the design. They are also really blurring the lines between who is good vs evil in this set of films which is cool to see. Just cause Gamera is normally good (overall) it doesn’t mean he hasn’t ruined people’s lives. Also wild Dreamcast appearance in this film. Im curious if those sold better in Japan than here in the US. Had a ton of fun with this, but its not as strong as part 2!

I was absolutely blown away by this, one of the best examples of a movie deconstructing the previous instalments in its series that I’ve seen. This film heavily contrasts the previous portrayals of Gamera by portraying him as less of an unambiguous hero and more of an amoral force dedicated to preserving human civilisation at any cost. The earlier movies had some humans be sceptical of whether Gamera is truly a force for good but they were always shown to…

This movie is fucking awesome Gamera becomes an amputee “How many? Lots.”

The longest of the series and with the most secondary characters. It felt as convoluted as usual but I did enjoy the big brawl at the end. Not convinced by all these connections but hey ho. Was anticipating a downbeat ending that didn’t happen apart Gamera losing an appendage that I’m sure can be restored after a decent kip.

Yeah I had just underrated all of these before. This movie fucks. Gamera has never looked more menacing, and when he sets the statue of the nationally beloved loyal dog Hachiko on fire, that’s the ultimate statement that this ain’t your daddy’s friend to all children. Special effects are the most impressive yet. I even like how it incorporates CG. Iris is the most interesting big bad yet, which is much needed after Gyaos and Legion ultimately just being animals/bugs…

The darkest of this trilogy (heavily emphasizing the collateral damage Gamera causes, and with a Bizarro-Gamera villain who’s psychically connected to a teenager who blames Gamera for the death of her parents) and also the best, with special effects both spectacular and silly, and a great climactic fight set in Kyoto’s massive central train station. Love the use of a Sega Dreamcast to run sophisticated computer simulations; now that’s 1999 product placement

The dichotomy of a monster that protects kids and a monster that likes high schoolers too much is genius

Aún me da risa que el CGI se vea como el de PS2. Me gusta que en está si tomen en cuenta más qué es parte de una trilogía y no como la pasada, además Iris debe ser el mayor rival que se enfrento Gamera.

Liked the concept of this one more than the execution. There are a greater number of poorly written and worse acted supporting characters this time out. The final battle is also harder to follow than previous installments, while also proving somewhat of an anticlimax given Iris seems a foe far easier to ultimately overcome than Legion. The tacked on cliffhanger also seems pointless. Shame because the central premise concerning the collateral damage caused by Gamera is a good one and, for a while, it seemed like this might match or exceed its predecessors. But it loses its way.

“Gamera saved me!” This movie is a masterpiece; it doesn’t just depict a battle between giant monsters, but uses that spectacle to reflect on deeply human themes: pain, loss, responsibility, and the way we choose to respond to suffering. What impresses me most is that the movie dares to question its own hero. Instead of presenting Gamera as a perfect savior, it acknowledges that even the noblest actions can have tragic consequences. Thousands of people were saved thanks to him,…

The aerial battle between Gamera and Iris is one of the best and most thrilling action sequences ever put to screen. I like how Gameras design gets progressively more aggressive as the movies continue, matching the darkening tone. And this has got to be my favorite design. Iris’ design and concept in general is so cool. This movie and trilogy is a masterpiece. if you need a good kaiju movie or just movie in general, watch these movies. I am so sad there is not anymore of these to watch😢

A strong ending to the trilogy. I would’ve liked a bit more of the twisting of the emotional knife regarding why the monster is named “Iris”… I would have been weeping. The climax in Kyoto Station (I’ve been there!) is probably the best-looking kaiju scene of all time.
