While not every film has been bad, the beginning of the general trend downward in Guy Ritchie’s career can be traced back to 2008, the year that his divorce from Madonna was finalized. In this essay I will-

Guy Ritchie makes fun movies in every genre and I love him for that. I am an absolute sucker for a globetrotting treasure hunt and although this doesn’t reach the levels that National Treasure does, it’s still a blast and if that’s not enough for you, Eiza González kicks major ass in it.

Feels like they caught Stanley Tucci on his lunch break from Conclave and just rolled with it. 2025 Ranked

“Can you at least tell me where he was?” “If I knew where he was, I assure you, you’d be the first to know, as he’s put me in a somewhat awkward position. I’m desperate neither for incarceration nor unemployment.” “Well allow me to assist. But if it later transpires that you’re being somewhat disingenuous —” “Oh, I would not dare be mendacious with an official dressed in that houndstooth.” Somehow, this is actual dialogue from this movie; I would not dare be mendacious with Letterboxd users.

Beyond bored with all these wanna-be action franchises where the studios think that they can just throw a bunch of money at it, cast A-list stars and then just run a derivative story idea through an AI engine so it pumps out the requisite amount of fake snarky Marvel style wit and expect a positive result on the back-end. This is Slopbuster 101. Dont waste your time. Side Note: John…..please…..stick to the serious stuff. Quiet Place, Jack Ryan, 13 Hours thats your wheel house and you crush……This? This aint it bro. Leave this kind of nonsense to Chris Pratt……and Natalie…..You good? Did that Dior check bounce or something? Call me.

The best part of the movie is the end credits because I got to listen to an Oasis song and didn’t have to watch a lifeless zero-rizz remake of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade anymore

I can’t decide if AI was used to write this or the writer was just exceptionally stupid.

Guy Ritchie asks the question: “What if The Mummy and National Treasure were boring?” Eiza Gonzalez is innocent and needs to lead an action film immediately.

Fountain of Youth is probably Guy Ritchie’s most frustrating film. It’s a globetrotting adventure in the vein of National Treasure and Indiana Jones, but unfortunately feels like a much weaker version of both. It does, however, have a great cast who all try their best with the material. John Krasinski is likeable enough in the lead, while Natalie Portman, as always, is great. If I didn’t know this was directed by Guy Ritchie, I probably wouldn’t have been able to…

The least Guy Ritchie movie of all time. However, despite “borrowing” from basically every treasure hunter movie of all time, this was a solid watch.

Aside this movie, I’ve only ever watched John Krasinski in a Quiet Place and maybe it was a good thing he didn’t talk very much in that movie. This movie was stupid but it could’ve been fun stupid if they had cast anyone else as the leading man. The jokes in this were awful but even worse than the script was the delivery. I won’t waste any more time on this. If I could rate this lower, I would.

it’s monumentally unremarkable. No twists, a wanna be storyline, and what even was up with Kransinski and the hand-of-mercy lady.

I think this has to be Ritchie’s worst film. A whole cast of people devoid of any interest and a whole slog of an adventure film. Just boring more than anything else.

Last year I watched the last few Guy Ritchie movies that I hadn’t seen to complete his filmography. I knew he had a new one coming out right after that, but I guess because I never saw anyone talk about it, I forgot this existed. He already had another new movie come out this year, which I hadn’t heard of until last night, so I decided to watch both them. After watching Fountain of Youth I can understand why it…

Love knowing this all takes place in the Dunder Mifflin universe. Exactly like National Treasure but one notch more silly and three notches more outlandish.
