I think this is a perfect escalation of the intensity in 2 Fast. The first sequence is fantastic, and nothing ever matches up to it, but I think that’s the sequence that cements this franchise as being past “reality.” Has the same plot as 2 Fast 2 Furious, and the digital graphics are so GOOFY and really remind you about how new GPS was at the time. The last movie in the franchise that truly and purely says ACAB. Very funny to see Gal Gadot in a movie where Dom repeatedly drives a car with “BDS” in the front. Made me laugh when Campos is revealed to be Braga (duh) and he starts dressing like a kingpin. EDIT: I was wrong! Five is VERY ACAB. love these boys 🙂

Far from the best entry in the franchise. I’d take the campiness of 2 and 3 over the mostly dull tone throughout this one any day. But on the other hand, I’d happily take the more procedural approach of this one over what the franchise became in more recent years in a heartbeat

THE FITS HOLY LORDY LORD THEY WERE SOOOO GOOD. Each character had their own very distinct style that really represented their values but also their position in the group, the costume design was just excellent and I looooooovveeeee the style the girls would wear to the events y2k is back guys 🙂↕️ I won’t be participating cause if I did I would look stupid but I love to see other girls strutting it. Although this movie does not have as much of a wow or impactful factor as the first three films. I still heavily enjoyed this film and it still holds a special place in my heart and love for cars as it was actually my first fast and furious film before 1,2, and Tokyo drift. I also fell in love with the specific spec of the skyline used in this movie as well. Nothing crazy but a fair 4/5 stars.

Oh no Letty. Poor Brian at the funeral and Dom and Mia. They fixed the car, that’s good. I expected it but it was still a good reveal. The cinematography in this is just incredible. Dom at the crash site was a clear example. A good bit of my questions have been answered but some definitely were not. Han’s gotta go drift, you have to respect it. And they got him at the end! I don’t know if these movies are about street racing anymore but then again were they ever?

The plot is a bit jumpy and makes the series feel disconnected. Though it is nice to see the cast back together. Letty’s death seems rushed and like it’s just used to bring Dom back which is ok I guess. Some good action sequences throughout and a great chase and death to finish. Just quite a mediocre movie.

Highly recommend a Saturday where you watch a Fast on the big screen for the first time in 25 years, eat a burger, come home and watch another Fast, take a break to go do karaoke, and finally return home to watch Fast 4 with a couple Coronas and your buddies. If you do all of that, I can guarantee you will love this movie. You’ll also just have a perfect Saturday. Dom + Brian = 🫶

Remember when this series was about cars? The film looks incredible, I love the lighting in a lot of the scenes. The special effects are quite primitive, but I actually find it a bit endearing— maybe that’s just my own Y2K nostalgia bias. The film shines when it’s about racing, but the moments in between— the emotional beats are mostly laughably bad. If you ignore those scenes, it’s a pretty good film.

I’m sad to say bye to the colorful aesthetics of the first two in favor of a more grounded installment. They’re definitely more fun and have more rewatch value (I even changed my ratings for both after watching this) but this one is the nice reset that allowed the franchise to continue similar to fourth Mission: Impossible.
