RESEÑA EN ESPAÑOL FIGHT! – THE LOUDEST LAUGH: CARREY VS. SANDLER I’ve been aware of the mixed to negative reception this long-awaited sequel has received. And yeah, I totally understand. I can speak about all the things that don’t work on this film but basically this is just a bad rehash of the first one. There are a few different things, like the reasoning behind the road trip this time around and the bad guys trying to take down our duo, who I have to say are still the best in the entire movie. Carrey and Daniels are committed and they seamlessly get into the skin of these fellas, almost like they never left. The banter and camaraderie between the…

No one ever said that writing “dumb” humor was easy. Case in point – the Dumb and Dumber movies. I haven’t rewatched the first one recently, so it doesn’t have a rating on my page yet, but from memory I’d give it around 4 stars (maybe 4.5). Suffice to say that I really enjoyed it. This sequel has the similar type of humor, although unlike the first, none of it lands. It just isn’t funny. In addition, I thought the story was a poor choice (Harry needing a Kidney and a daughter gets mixed in). And quite frankly, I have zero desire seeing these two actors playing the exact same version of these characters at this particular age of the…

Most of this sucks. But I did sincerely have a few decent laughs around the 50% mark. Not a ton! But enough that I don’t really regret watching it.

4/10 This movie is bad, which is extremely unfortunate because I did really enjoy the first movie. I think they made this a decade too late in my opinion. It loses a lot of the charm that first movie had, and tbh I can’t really point my finger on why. Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniel’s are still a great duo, and reprise their roles expertly. But the humor at times felt off and the story honestly just wasn’t interesting. The first 20 minutes is genuinely hilarious, but after that it slowly falls off a cliff. Like I said it’s bad, but honestly couldn’t get invested in the story. It for sure gave a few giggles which is why I’m not lower.

Very funny and pretty much predicted in the space between the two movies and Farrellys slowly erosion of audience during it and as such it is both a declaration of principles and one of the smartest self-referential movies of the year. The obvious reference point is Landis’ Blues Brothers 2000, another 20 years later sequel by a comedy auteur of one his earlier beloved films that is very self-aware about its position, but Dumb and Dumber To is a good deal funnier, it is world more lived in and outside of a couple of callback gags that land flat the commentary never gets in the way of the movie. Glad to see those guys making a whole successful film, it has been a long time and American comedy was a lot poorer for it.

It’s time to admit that I’m a fraud and I don’t actually love all of these niche foreign language films. In reality, I wanna watch more films like this.

This was…way better then I thought it would be. As a huge fan of the original, I’ve avoided this. For 12 years now. Kind of like the whole joke in the beginning…I gave it some time to breathe. I’ve seriously seen the original at least 250 times. No joke. We used to watch the original on vhs every morning before school. In high school, my buddy and I would go pick our friend up in the morning before high school, and she would just press play on her VCR while we smoked, and it was always dumb and dumber. Could be 20 minutes in, the beginning, the ending, sometimes would have to rewind…but it was ALWAYS Dumb and Dumber. It…

The fact that they totally missed that spelling error in the title is perhaps the funniest thing in this rehash of stuff that also wasn’t funny the first time round.

Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels should be on the five dollar bill

Well, they decided to get the band back together after twenty-five years. Attempted to cookie cut the humor out of the first and basically couldn’t hit the side of a barn with a nuclear missile. But hey at least they can say that they tried. Before everyone got too old.

I somehow underestimated the buffoonery I was about to witness at the start. This movie is still somehow heartwarming and even though harry and Lloyd are morons, they still carry a lot of empathy. The timing and physicality of the acting is spot on as well as the jokes being told. I will admit a couple are a bit crass though.

Not as good as the first and barely feels like a functioning movie at some points, but there are still some pretty funny gags in here, and it’s just fun seeing Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels together for one last time. 🔗 Jim Carrey ranked

One of the most disappointing films I’ve ever seen. Dumb and dumber is a classic and landmark film in my life. This is utter garbage.

The first Dumb and Dumber is one of my favorite movies of all time and this was one just didn’t hit at all. It was nice seeing an attempt but something about this first one just completely stands the test of time.

If you have seen the first one, you’ve seen this film. It hits all of the same story beats and tries to play off your nostalgia that you’re just better off watching the first one.

Needed a comedy like this after zero day. It’s definitely not as funny as the original but it still has its moments. There’s more unfunny stuff than funny stuff though.

This is off in about a million different ways but let’s limit ourselves to the top three shall we: 1. This didn’t have to be a lega-sequel – it could have just been another daffy comedy about two thickheaded morons on a road trip. After all, it is not like the original movie is some sacred text! But no, DaDT repeatedly shoehorns in callbacks to the first movie. I’m willing to spot this the return of the carpet covered dog…

“Hey, Har. You wanna hear the second most annoying sound in the world?” Why was this movie made? I have no idea. A world where Dumb and Dumber got a sequel is beyond me. The first one to me is kinda nostalgic, super dumb, but damm funny at the same time. It was one of the first movies that was made with the intention of being retarded. But to make another one serves no purpose. Some of the jokes just…

A very chaotic and messy movie with a very weak storyline but Jim Carey and Jeff Daniels were both great like in the first movie. Unfortunately, it was a very dry movie in my opinion with areas with less comedy and developing the storyline felt dry and sluggish and I only really carried on watching to wait for the parts of comedy and even some of the jokes were dull. Disappointing as the first movie was good.

Another Jim Carrey movie where I was cracking up the whole time. The only part where I think they we t to far is when Lloyd whipped a dudes balls off and the showed us.

Dumb and dumber to is funny but nowhere near as hilarious as the first one. A lot of the plot doesn’t make sense, my main problem with it is: Why did they have to drive to El Paso? Everybody else flew there and some of them left after Lloyd and harry? However, it did get a lot of laughs from me. Lloyd and Harry’s energy is unmatched. Them going on this journey to El Paso is some kinda bill and…
