    It’s pretty much just a montage and gets very repetitive with the back and forth sometimes but damn, that Petey and Dog Man relationship is honestly really good. And I got a soft spot for the books so this was very enjoyable.

    everyone is adhd and that’s awesome. I’ve never felt soooo seen regarding the adhd side of my audhd.i love the suppressed adhd joke and the positive messages that adhd can do anything just not in the way u expect.I loved the giant building kaiju esk fights and when the mail man mecha did the ass kicking wresting movie and dropped the monster build.     Not going to give it a star rating since I missed the first act, but Lil’ Petey absolutely rocks as the heart of this movie. And the movie adapts the look and vibe of the books perfectly, all the way down to the chapter titles

    ignore the negative Nancy that logged this movie the last time. this is the sweetest movie ever with a beautiful message and a story that wraps up so nicely, nothing is done just because. so many awesome shots and clever camera movements that keep you engaged but don’t feel overwhelming. hilarious too ofc, I remember so vividly watching this in theater with my dear friend and laughing and cooing along with the few families at the screening that night. dont know how I could have rated it anything other than 5 stars.

    it’s not anything impressive. i appreciate the effort they put into creating a unique art style for this movie. this is a great story to entertain kids while also teaching them something important. Lil Petey is such a goober. “Love isn’t something you feel, it’s something you do.”

    Co-parenting, gay subtext, and “dad left to get milk” jokes are so millenial-coded, I love it. This movie has the same charm as Captain Underpants movie, but the pacing at the first half is a bit too fast. The second half though was really cute.     Like several other DreamWorks animated films, the premise is too ridiculous for me, so not even its self-awareness eases the annoyance. Li’l Petey almost saves it with his adorable innocence and effect on everyone around him, but the other characters, the pacing and especially the climax are just irritatingly insane. My rating: 30%

    Surprisingly successful at adapting difficult source material I love when the animation gets jerky to resemble the Flip-o-Ramas, or when the visual onomatopoeias pop up It even retains the pro-reading attitude of the books. There’s lots of words scattered about, some read aloud, some not. Some are big words that kids might not have seen before It did lag at times for me as an adult, but there were plenty of times I laughed out loud— same experience as reading the books.
