Why is it this way?” And so, I would hate the minion. I would despise the minion. I would mock the minion when it came along. And I would destroy all wine-drinking minion posters. Then I had a dream. A dream where minions were dying. They were sick in a market. A roadside place. I had compassion for the minion. I reached out and helped them. They were so small. What could they do? Sick as they were, weak as they were, small as they were, I took care of…

Vector is the reason I work out. I have this fantasy where we start talking at the Vanity Fair Oscars party bar. We exchange a few pleasantries. He asks what I do. I say I loved him in Despicable Me. He laughs. I get my drink. “Well, see ya,” I say and walk away. I’ve got his attention now. How many guys voluntarily leave a conversation with Vector? He touches his neck as he watches me leave. Undeniably iconic, whether you’re memeing it or genuinely loved it, it’s part of the communal zeitgeist either way. My dad loves the soundtrack.

I’d say there’s a pretty unique magic to this one. Definitely a favorite of the 2010s, good humor and a heartwarming story makes this one a well earned classic.
