I
the little tagline thing on this app for this film is BACK 2 WORK and I’m not sure if that’s an official tagline from the film’s promotion or if letterboxd came up with that themselves but I have to say that is the laziest tagline I’ve ever read in my entire life. it has no relevance to the themes or specific elements/points of reference of the franchise, it purely bases its limited wit off of the fact that this is the 2nd instalment. you could put that tagline under any sequel and it would work, mission impossible 2? BACK 2 WORK. iron man 2? BACK 2 WORK. you know what they should use for despicable me 4? BACK 4 MORE.…

These movies are near-singlehandedly keeping the art of slapstick alive. I’m not sorry

It starts with a predictable idea and ends up developing into something extraordinary. The result works effectively.

Still trying to understand minioness….nevertheless I’ll persist

The second movie felt pretty similar to the first one for me It kept the same humor and energy and I still had a good time watching it
-
A
Another case of sue me, I enjoy the original more. The purple minions kinda scare me. At one point I knew this movie bar for bar.

Talvez seja o meu segundo favorito da franquia, gosto muito da Lucy, os minions são mais engraçados, animação perfeita, nostálgico, tudo de bom.

I don’t say this often but this sequel was very very necessary. It’s been years, but I’m still so jealous of that gigantic tortilla chip sombrero. The German “Simon Ramspopo / Hahahahah, Popo” is so much better than the English “Silas Ramsbottom / Hahahahah, bottom,” though.

4 year old me would’ve had this on her top 4 movies i know that for sure. my entire family used to compare me to agnes which imo is the biggest compliment i love her sososo much and i’ve been her for multiple halloweens now! however that fart gun did horrendous damage to my parents; my brother and i would always try to fart in their faces. for something that was made 13 years ago (wow) it still feels so new and fresh. papoi

Meu preferido, eu amo muito a lucy, ela muito diva karateca, e tem cenas muito engraçadas sim, fora que os minions roxo servem muito mais cunt que os normais.

A very pro-bald film. Not only is Gru sexier when he is not wearing a wig, when the minions are evil they have loads of hair! Nice Invasion of the Body Snatchers reference. I like these films so far – warm-hearted, anarchic and rude.

“EAT JELLY YOU PURPLE FREAKS” If I say this is maybe one of my favorite movies ever then what. I’m being so deadass. It’s funny bc the scene where Gru’s extra happy and interacts with society and then later interacts with the same community is a sad way (after learning Lucy was going to AUS) reminded me of 500 Days of Summer. Again the details are just immaculate. The Top scrt liscense plate on Lucy’s car, the minion who knocked…

Just got home from a two day camping trip in the woods with several children, so we’re needing to be couched out today and rewatching this for the 14th time which feels like the exact 50/50 compromise of what me and the child actually like

i’ve never felt so maternal towards anything as i have the starring yellow cylindrical creatures in a film that is essentially the incredible hulk (2008) with more feeling. will be naming my future children dave and kevin just to trick myself into loving them nearly as much as their namesakes.

This and the first one are by far my favorite.

Things end just as fast as they start in this movie, and only like a third of the jokes and visual gags even manage to make me crack a smile, but I do like that El Macho gets defeated by a brap of pure methane. There is something eerily off putting about early minions, like these guys are more creepy than charming here.

Eu profundamente acho esse mais divertido, creio que seja porque eu via ele quando era criança e tenho uma memória melhor com ele, mas acho ele mais divertido e interessante, mesmo que ele foque mais na comédia do que no drama e em um enredo mais bem feito.
