Loving this trend of queer coming off age movies focusing on friendship instead of romance storylines. This one was especially really sweet because both were queer and it’s just really nice to see the special kind of support those friendships can lend, especially when you’re newly figuring out your identity. It’s just nice to realize that you’re not alone.

The best movie I have seen to date. I related to this movie so much, If amber was real I would do anything to be her friend, the acting in fantastic and the comedy is the best compared to anything I’ve ever watched. Proud to claim this film as a gay Irish teen.

This was so charming! Heartfelt, engaging, emotional, so many hilarious moments, and overall very sweet. It’s not perfect – the actors are too old for the characters they play, and I would have liked something more between Eddie and Cian, but it is such a beautiful tribute to the power of friendship. This movie kinda flew under the radar, but it’s a great discovery.

A classic queer experience. A fierce, self-assured girl introducing the queer world to a shy baby gay who’s only just starting to question who he is. And that ending… the most beautiful, heartbreaking ending possible. It couldn’t have been better.

- Synopsis
- Eddie and Amber decide to stage a relationship in order to stop everyone speculating about their sexuality. Eddie is keen to follow his dad into the military, while Amber dreams of moving to the liberal hub of London. The plan seems solid, but as their arrangement begins to fall apart, Eddie’s denial gets deeper as Amber realizes that a perilous future awaits her best friend unless she intervenes.
