Mel Gibson playing a toxically masculine, casually violent, misogynistic, deadbeat dad.😱 Seems like a stretch for him but okay.🤦♀️ Will Ferrell, Linda Cardellini and John Lithgow are just about likeable enough to make up for Marky Mark’s shitty acting and Mel Gibson’s Mel Gibson-ness. It’s got some chuckles🤭 and I like the singing at the end.🤷♀️🎶 A forgettable but enjoyable Xmas movie.🎄

I realize I’m in the minority here but I really enjoy Daddy’s Home 2. The first daddy’s home movie was decent enough and in my opinion this sequel is a huge improvement over it. Having Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg as friends from the start, bringing in John Lithgow and Mel Gibson (both are standouts), and then making it a Christmas movie are all big improvements. Does the thing most bad comedy sequels do which is basically redo the first film because hey the first movie made bank so everything you loved in the first movie is back again! The greatest film ever made. I love this film. I adore this film. This film is my life. If you’re ever speaking to me at new years and ask me if I have watched daddy’s home 2 this winter and I say no. That is not me. This is a staple of cinematography. They should be building statues of the characters in this film. So in conclusion this masterpiece deserves its place in the greatest films of all time. Cinema Mount Rushmore. I fucking love this film so much that I feel like crying just thinking about it.
