It sucks that they adapted my school essay I wrote when I was nine about race in America into this peice of pretentious shit.

This was absolutely phenomenal. My wife recommended this, and somehow it just slipped through the cracks for me. What a loaded cast. Every story was well fleshed out. I was invested in all of them. Some more than others, but still. I cried at probably 3 different scenes in all honesty. That invisible cloak scene? I mean, come on. Very powerful stuff. I also hate that this just still feels like the norm in life. Everything in this movie still happens a lot on a daily basis. Just a great film. Amazing performances all around. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Whenever I walk into a classroom filled with new students I can always immediately pick out the spoiled rich kids who think they have an understanding of the real world, while they really, really don’t. This film is one of those kids. And it’s the worst kind, it thinks it’s important too. It’s not. It’s about as important as bleaching your anus or stuffing your face with botox.

So I couldn’t settle on just one joke to express how I feel about this one so here’s a list: -they really made Love Actually with racism instead of Christmas -this movie has the same energy as those “you wouldn’t steal a TV” pirating commercials -as in, Crash my head into the wall -do you think Sandra Bullock and Don Cheadle have nightmares about this? -wow y’all really weren’t kidding about this one -I can’t believe this movie ended racism -Brokeback mountain…oh my god I’m so sorry -I literally hate the Oscars this is the last straw -The only movie I can think of with both Brendan Frasier and Ludacris -I literally hate existing this is the last straw

This movie is about how every day, every single person in the world, of every single race, commits a hate crime accidentally Unintentionally funniest movie I have ever seen. 5 stars

This is the film that illustrates that the Academy Awards are a complete sham. THIS won best picture. Fucking hilarious. Of course, there have been a couple of other really bad winners, but this takes the cake. Insultingly ignorant, convuluted, misguided, idiotic nonsense that has no concept of subtleties.

It’s honestly kind of amazing that we have actual, tangible proof of the bullshit liberal mindset that racism isn’t an intentionally monstrous systemic construct we enable through policy but simply a chaotic, unsolvable tragedy of everyone’s horrifying personal identity prejudices being acted on by the uncivilized―that actors actually performed these scenes, and an entire crew actually filmed them doing so, with zero irony, is genuinely impressive.

Was just getting me some food, parents put this on the TV, I didn’t mean to stay but the cinematography and dialogue hooked me in, it was full of personality and the satire was too funny not to stay there for. I guess I’m just a sucker for old movies but yeah, I really enjoyed this. Apparently that’s a hot take and everyone here on letterboxd hates it? Feels like revisionist history, I don’t know, the film obviously deals with…

Bro I got through an hour of this until I realized this wasn’t David Cronenbergs crash. I was genuinely so confused the entire time because this was nothing like how I would expect a movie of his to be like. I actually feel so stupid. About to watch two movies called crash in one night and I’m about to crash out.

I loved this movie, so many life lessons in there. It really shows how small the world is with how many times they ran into each other. You never know how much racism really affects people. You NEVER know how much people really going through.

This seems to get a lot of negative reviews and I don’t really understand why. I always gravitate towards a movie that has individual characters where their paths cross within the story. Some of the themes in this seem more relevant today than when it was initially released over 20 years ago. But this movie does make some odd decisions with characters – where Sandra Bullock’s main event is falling down 4 stars and having a moment of clarity… and that’s just an example.

A história do filme eu achei simplesmente genial!

Watched this and Gran Torino cause some dickhead told me they are good movies. This film is unwatchable bullshit that treats racism not like a pervasive purposeful systemic forces, but instead a tragedy only perpetrated by individuals Fucking treadful

I’ll be honest here when I say that I think movies about racism, while they are important, they are kind of overdone and one-note. The cast is stacked here and everyone does an amazing job at what they’re given, but some characters felt they didn’t have enough time on screen, like Sandra Bullock who’s only on screen for 5 minutes.

This film is so shit but also so beautiful as a whole piece of stupid media. Every time I rewatch this (more often than I will admit, bi-annually at this point) I will remove 0.5 stars… I have 5 rewatches left…
