This is like hanging out with the clever kid from high school who would do whip-its and now it’s a decade since high school and he’s REALLY into whip-its where he has like a machine for huffing co2 and there’s a bunch of hollow canisters on the floor of his mom’s basement as he huffs one every few minutes while he makes dead baby jokes which never really offended you but now it’s actually got you thinking about dead babies and what that could do to a family and why a lot of people don’t joke about that kind of stuff Excited for part 3!

Same old Dante and Randal … but without that unique indy feel of the original. “Why because I enjoyed what I did? I got to watch movies, fuck with assholes, and hang out with my best friend all day. Can you think of a better way to make a living? Yeah maybe it wasn’t what everyone does, but it was pretty fucking good.” Here we go again as a former Quick Stop clerk turned fast-food restaurant employee Dante, tries to find some stability in life. While his best friend and coworker Randal, tries to stir up trouble to help burn the hours of their workday. While Clerks 2 does not have the same charm as the original, at least it…

Clerks 2 has not held up very well. Let’s quickly recap where I stand with Kevin Smith – Original Clerks and Chasing Amy. That’s the only two films of his that I consider very good. Bits and pieces from other films of his that I enjoyed, and I did have fun with Zach and Mira Make a Porno, but as far as a complete package goes, just two films would I give above 4.0 stars (Gave Clerks 4.0 stars, and haven’t watched Chasing Amy recent enough to rate on Letterboxd, but I am guessing its a 4 as well). The original Clerks didn’t need a sequel. In retrospect, it should have been left alone. And what it CERTAINLY didn’t need…

honestly, clerks II isn’t even a real movie it’s just a big joke that kevin smith cleverly concocted somehow. from the ABC scene that makes absolutely no sense and has little to no context to kinky kelly and the sexy stud to the jail scene with heart? to porch monkey to the 1979 smashing pumpkins montage i don’t know how this was even made how did kevin smith do this this also proves that he’s not even a real person he’s just a prank from Hollywood im glad this was made because this is real film and the biggest achievement in cinema of all time clerks II is a true tour de force and my 11th favorite film of all…

The ViewAskewiverse Five. Years. Later 20 years later and I both love and hate how spiritually quotable this has become for me personally y’all. 😅 I should pull a page from Silent Bob’s Holy Fucking Bible and y’know…shut the fuck up. 🤣 Absolutely convinced that Dante and Randall went to Brookdale Community to get their degrees in criminology because of 24. 🤓😅😅

12 It’s almost comical how terrible Clerks II is compared to the original film. Clerks at least had the decency to productively convey working-class malaise and the stagnation of pop-culture. The Quick Stop employees were bored out of their minds, and they always had the energy to complain, but it was sympathetic to the ceaseless, hellish industry of retail and service work. Kevin Smith maxed out credit cards and took out loans and shot the film from store close-to-open for 21 days straight, and the authenticity is tactile. Clerks II feels like it was forced on Kevin Smith by gunpoint. Tired bits of stale humor, hardly any meaningful character progression, and blown-out photography that glows like a Denny’s commercial. Scenes…

“RAN-daaaallll!!!” – Dante (Brian O’Halloran) I’ve never liked this movie, but I decided to throw it on as background noise anyway, guided by the same instincts that sometimes lead me to go on the Wayback Machine to dig up shitty old websites I used to visit. This is the third Kevin Smith movie I’ve revisited in the past month, and they’ve all been dire, but I guess they must remind me in some way of my lost youth. I wish I knew how to quit you, Kevin. I’m excited to tell my grandkids that in 2006, we got a wide-release studio movie starring Brian O’Halloran and Jeff Anderson. Rosario Dawson is the only real actor here, and she makes a…

I liked this film a fair amount as it finally showed the much needed growth for the main characters, it had a satisfying ending, my main dislike is the exagerated sex talk, and that one donkey scene, yikes, aside from that the movie was much like the first one a pleasant watch that expanded upon the story of the main characters.

A great sequel that may not reach the highs of the first one but feels like a natural progression not only for the characters in the movies but also Kevin Smith as a filmmaker coming back to what started it all. Rosario Dawson is a great addition and so is the Elias character. Some amazing bits that don’t feel like retreads of the original one. Clerks 2 may not use the fast food service concept to its fullest potential but it is effective for the story they are trying to tell.

“you’re my best friend, and i love you. in a totally heterosexual way.” do either of them know it’s ok to be bisexual or are they just gonna be like that forever so fucking funny but i will say. a couple scenes go on forever in this one that could’ve been half as long that like genuinely almost made me pause it and do a lap because i was getting so much second hand embarrassment. past that though i absolutely…

“You’re my best friend, and I love you… In a totally heterosexual way.” “Yeah, right.” Say what you want about Clerks 2 (2006), but to me, this feels more like a Kevin Smith film than the original. If you really hate this, I seriously doubt you’d like most of Smith’s other movies. It has everything I enjoy in his work, whereas with Clerks (1994), he hadn’t perfected his raunchy, offensive humor that I’ve grown to love so dearly. I’m not…

Clerks II is way crazier than the first Clerks ever was, I still think the first one is incredible but man did I have a fun time with this one, it has a great cast, great music, great edgy humor, and more Jay and Silent Bob which I love, overall a pretty solid sequel, even if it’s not greater than the first was.

Clerks II is honestly a great time. Kevin Smith brings back the same crude, ridiculous humor from the original, but with more heart and surprisingly strong character moments. Dante and Randal’s friendship is still the center of everything, and their chemistry carries the movie. The cast is fantastic, especially Jeff Anderson and Brian O’Halloran, and the movie has way more emotional weight than you’d expect from a comedy this stupid. The ending also lands really well and gives the characters…

I really don’t know how to feel about this one. As a big fan of the original Clerks, this one, in all senses, feels like a complete step in the wrong direction. The down to earth genuineness of the original is lost here, and feels like another big budget 2000’s dick joke comedy, that’s TRYING to be relatable and fails. The characters we’ve known to love have (somewhat) been bastardized to all hell, here, Randall especially, and the new characters…

Every time I watch this I become less and less impressed with it. Dialed way back is the spectacular banter that made the original so memorable (and when it comes, it is still usually the highlight) and dialed up are these celebrity cameos by all the friends Kevin Smith had made in the dozen years between peeks into this world. I also had no recollection of Mrs. Smith being as terrible an actress as I found her to be this…

The view askewniverse watch (movie 6) Clerks ll Well this just does not feel like the first one but I still enjoyed watching the film. My biggest reason why I didn’t like this so much has to be that Dante and Randal don’t work in Quick Stop for almost the entire movie and that kinda pissed me off a bit. Still this was funny at times because of Jay and Silent Bob but it didn’t just feel like the first…

“You know, sometimes I wish I did a little more with my life instead of hanging out in front of places selling weed and shit. Like, maybe be an animal doctor. Why not me? Dante returns with more problems, working at a Mooby’s now that the Quick Stop has burnt down. He also plans on moving to Florida with Emma…

Its crazy how movies can reflect whats going on in your life and the clerks especially hit that a lot of my personal moments. Had to take a 9 hour ride to a wedding and decided to watch this finally all the way. Watching highlights and bits as a young lad have been really funny, but seeing it through it manages to be both raunchy and very human all together much like the first one. Maybe more raunchy lol, but…

20th Anniversary Fuck, I had to take a fuckin’ order off a guy I blew after Junior Prom, once. This is not as good as the first one but it is still really funny and has its moments. What an abomination. Rapey, misogynistic and racist, I was turned off when the “Excutive Produced by Harvey Weinstein” credit came up, I didn’t realize he also wrote and directed the movie. Rosario Dawson will always be an OG, a special presence ever since we first saw her in Kids, but appearing in this and dating Corey booker are real low points on her résumé lol. Edit: also coming back to add that these movies where the overweight, charisma devoid, ambition,…
