This was a solid three for me until the whole third act, when it becomes a bland CGI fest with a lot going on but nothing precisely exciting. Very much visual noise. And kinda random. That being said, this got a few chuckles out of me, and Murphy, while still a shell of who he was even back in the day, was still really solid. Definitely better than the last Hudlin collab between the two I’ve seen already. The CGI wasn’t that bad. I also have to give it to the movie; the premise is pretty original and, for the most part, very well executed. All in all, while it doesn’t stick to the landing and is never constantly funny or engaging, I’d say there’s enough good things to like if you are a diehard fan of Murphy or you have the stomach for mid-Christmas movies. This motion picture, produced by Amazon Studios, ends with a character celebrating a promotion at their job at an Amazon warehouse.

It was fun until it became a weird Christmas version of Jumanji. Even then, Eddie Murphy is funny enough to keep me entertained and in the grand scheme of Holiday streaming movies, it’s probably somewhere in the middle.

Ouh la la que c’est mauvais. Un conte de Noël qui ne donne aucun plaisir à être regardé. Murphy n’est que l’ombre de lui-même. On ne sourit pas une seule fois et on s’ennuie surtout beaucoup. Très très bof.

The most restricted performance from Eddie Murphy that I ever watched. Not even tiny bit watchable, and not funny.

Eddie Murphy and family film. I don’t really know why he wants to do this. There have been like a dozen or so of these Eddie Murphy family films and even the best of the them are still only mediocre. This attempt to make money at Christmas time does not even rise to the level or mediocre. A lot of these straight to streaming films lack any kind of effort to make the film actually good. It’s just take lovable star, add a half assed script written by an AI bot and watch the views pile up.
