??? Birds of Prey ends with 20 minutes of colorful and flawlessly choreographed action. It says “fuck you” to traditional comic book endings and leaves you feeling like you actually did see a movie take that style in a fun and unique direction. Unfortunately almost everything before those last 20 minutes is a typical messy and heartless superhero film covered in glitter and empty eccentricity. The highs of this make me excited for another Harley Quinn film (if that happens) the lows had me questioning if anybody out there really likes this character. Cool fact: the person in front of me threw up halfway through the film.

i think we can all agree that harley in that blue blazer driving off into the sunset eating the perfect egg sandwich with woman by kesha playing in the background is one of cinema’s finest endings

margot robbie has a scene where she skates to “barracuda” by heart, just like she did in i, tonya. 10/10 best picture I just wrote & deleted a bunch of stuff about the superficial elements of BOP that I liked because there’s one thing about this movie that struck me in particular and I don’t want to write a literary thesis about any movie that has a slow, dramatic cover of “Hit Me With Your Best Shot” on the soundtrack. Real quick I’ll say: McGregor delivers my favorite villain performance. Smollet-Bell & Winstead are terrific. Movie is beautiful, fun, choreography rules, the humor really worked for me, almost gets too Deadpool-y but bounces back, it’s easily my favorite DC film since The…

this movie is not bad, it actually has some really cool moments and fantastic stylistic elements but it mixes with some less interesting stuff that makes it end up as a mediocre movie with a lot of wasted potential. one other reason this movie isn’t great is the disservice to so many of the characters, like why did they mischaracterise like 5 different comic characters in this😭😭😭😭. either way though it is a fun movie and isn’t very long (compared to most cbms) but it has some very boring patches.

“We all know the saying, ‘Behind every successful man there’s a badass broad.” ; Harley Quinn “A Harley Quinn’s role is to serve. An audience. A master. You know, a Harley Quinn’s nothing without a master.” ; Harley Quinn “Number one, no one is like me. If you wanted to even come close, you would have to go to medical school. É um bom filme, tem uma narração ótima e satisfatória. Seria bem melhor se as cenas de luta (principalmente as cenas finais) não fossem tão ridicularizadas, mas entendo que a pegada aqui é mais humorística. Só acredito que misturar humorística com o tema mulher empoderada e independente é meio contraditório, provavelmente esse é o maior motivo das pessoas julgarem esse filme. Recomendo pra quem tem cérebro.

The best example of a character continually breaking the glass ceiling made better by brass knuckles and glitter.

If I’m gonna be honest I’m pretty sure this is the last movie I saw in theaters before covid. But I have a memory of myself watching this with a bottle of something lemonade svedka. Maybe that was pirated? I don’t know? But i also remember hot ass blondie (ii’m gay, M/M) and a great soundtrack. And that makes a good movie!

Nao precisa ter esse tanto de personagem no filme, se fosse so o mascara negra, alerquina e a menina q come o diamante tava show. Tem cor no filme coisa linda, a atuaçao e boa, as cenas de luta sao excelente e um filme legalzinho.

Nobody plays a Harley Quinn better than Margot Robbie. Everytime I watch this I suffer the same way Harley does watching her egg sandwich fall apart. Love this film in particular because it’s so colorful matching Harley’s energy and giving me a glittery experience. There will never be another Harley and also, my favorite Harley.

A criminal underuse of black canaries powers in this damn movie. Remember liking this way more than I should’ve tbh. Kinda very awkward movie with random bits that seemed like they simply did not need to be there. Not to say these girls aren’t serving kunt though. 〽️

Somehow the opening hit me harder than anything because I too am at a point in my life where I don’t know where to go. Harley Quinn as my psychologist would have pushed me better in my life.

Amo esta peli genuinamente esta TAN infravalorada. Yo también quiero una hiena de mascota tbh. Me encanta como hay escenas que muestran la perspectiva de Harley (la comisaría x ejemplo) de forma súper sutil. Me encanta me encanta me encanta

cool. i never really watched this, and now that i did im lowkey impressed bcs i expected total shit tbh. the plot was okay it was easy, nothin complicated. i really liked how they portrayed the characters for example victor zsasz was so fucking cool and good looking i love how they kept his scars and made his character really good. also i loved seeing this version of cass, as a chubby cute kiddo, and lastly huntress and black canary…

/stares into the mirror “I’m H—“ “The super gay trans woman who’s got a pathetically one-sided crush on Mary Elizabeth Winstead going back to Scott Pilgrim?” Yeah basically. Fun scenes, great soundtrack, stacked cast full of baddies. Just a good ass time. Wish I had seen it in a theater.

I hated so much of this and yet somehow came away with an odd respect for it being so of it’s time. March 2020 was really about the last possible moment a blockbuster could be so woke that it could have its villains be violent misogynist queens before it would come back around to being homophobic.
