I don’t think I was truly appreciating Band of Brothers until I watched the 6th episode. I then realised what a true achievement and landmark it is in the cinematic world. For some reason, the 6th episode hit me more than I was expecting. I don’t know if it was because of the beautiful sets and cinematography and how well it was edited from going between the fast paced moments to the calm moments. The SFX were incredible too. I’ve genuinely been blown away by this show. The production value is just immense and I can imagine it’s fair to say that there are very few other shows that come close to this in the sense of scale and how…

It is amazing what can be accomplished when you have the will. While this is particularly a comment about the men and women from every country that defended us against the tyranny of Hitler’s Third Reich, it can also apply to Tom Hanks and his collaborators who felt that immortalizing the effort of one particular group of individuals who were pivotal in that struggle was a worthy goal. We decided to watch the 11 hour Band of Brothers as our Remembrance Day tribute this year. Most war films have a scant few hours to embody their sentiment and affect the viewer. Many are classics and very effective, but what they can’t capture in those brief minutes is the tedium, the…

At the end of the tenth and final part of Band of Brothers, right when they cut from Damian Lewis’ voiceover as Maj. Richard D. Winters to the real Dick Winters himself, I got goosebumps, and suddenly I felt two or three tears falling down my cheeks. Having spent 11 hours with the men of Easy Company of the US Army 101st Airborne division, and then watching these men, Winters, Lipton, Malarkey, Guarnere, Heffron, Powers and Martin talk about the strong bond between themselves and their brothers in arms, those who died and those who survived, it hit me that this story is very real, and I didn’t feel the need to hold back my tears. Not that this mini-series…

The best depiction of the Western Front in WW2 and it’s not even close. Not a single wasted frame in the entire 600 minutes of runtime and the characters are so well acted I forget that they’re actors, not the real people involved.

Ten entries for ten chapters Truly a beautiful story, never missing a detail- from the beginning of a brotherhood as they join each other climbing the mountain, to jeeps being lifted onto the ship and the shops of a young New York City to the banter between the boys. Rumbling engines & a silent cabins. Explosions ahead and two pilots looking at each other wondering what comes next. This episode was a glimpse into what was to come. The third episode…

a fun but sad true story of the boys of easy company, the series is a good way to shed light on what the 506th parachute regiment accomplished in not just normandy but also holland, bastogne, berchtesgaden and zel am see. the soldiers go through hard times together from their basic training in the states to their jump over france along with the fights with the krauts in carentan, holland and the freezing winter of bastogne. i would absolutely recommend this series.

I watch more shows than films and don’t really track them as they’re mostly in the background of my day to day life. But this show was one of the best pieces of media I’ve watched and captured me like nothing before. Honestly a must watch.

Never in my life have I seen a series like this. Togetherness, family, sacrifice, it’s all here. It’s amazing how lucky those men were to survive until the war ended. Guarnere, Malarkey, Lipton, and the others. They weren’t just friends. They were family, bonded in a way that would never break until death. They will always be remembered as heroes and veterans of D-Day. Even though I’m not American, I can still feel how hard they fought and how much they sacrificed. It’s easily become my number one series of all time. Easy Company!

Since I learned that most of the WWII have been won on the eastern front contrary to what a lot of western media and cinema portrays to make us believe otherwise, it made me start to view these shows and movies about the war in a different light as they completely ignore the other part and make you believe that they were the ultimate saviors. Nonetheless, it is undeniable that anyone that have been through the war suffered terribly (some…

If I could assign a sixth star I would. Ten episodes of real life stories of the men who jumped from perfectly good planes to fight a war oceans away. Not for fame, not for glory, but for life. Each man with a different story connected to his battle buddy’s. Struggle, hardship, death, confusion and chaos. Some men never made it back, some never even made it off the plane. You may disagree with war, you may disagree with policy, but these men who did, served with all they had. All gave some, some gave all.

I have so much sympathy for the production team. How the fuck did they manage to make this? Definitely one of the best WW2 dramatisations of all time, but it’s not quite saving private Ryan.

Mannnnnnnnnnnnn this show never gets old I can’t believe how good this shit is man FUCKKKKKK it’s gooooooooooooood Although I gotta say, after having rewatched The Pacific multiple times now, it’s insane how big chilling Easy Company was post-Bastogne. Like obviously these are real events so it’s kind’ve a dumb observation but the last three episodes are essentially an extended epilogue. The Last Patrol is a banger episode though, extremely underrated

Grandpa, were you a hero in the war? No… but I served in a company of heroes. The feeling on realness that hit me in that moment was truly too much. Episodes 6, 9, and 10 are and will continue to be some of the greatest pieces of war-based media I have ever watched. Episode 6, focusing on Eugene Roe, one of the medics in Easy Company, was most likely my favorite of the bunch. Watching him form this relationship…

Watched Band of Brothers again after first seeing it when I was like 15 and honestly, I still fucking love it. It’s just so well made and the characters are great. Still an absolute masterpiece. 15-year-old me knew what was up.

Incredible show. Top 2 series I’ve ever seen. I get the hype, I knew it was gonna be good having already seen ‘the pacific’ but yeh this is special. Probably didn’t truly appreciate it till episode 5. I love that it’s all true events and accounts of survivors from the company too. The camp section of Episode 9 should be used in schools and shown to anyone who endorses the Holocaust. A life changing episode. Goosebumps at the end, hearing the real soldiers talk about themselves. None of them believe they’re hero’s cus they survived☹️. Real men, real hero’s

- Synopsis
- Drawn from interviews with survivors of Easy Company, as well as their journals and letters, Band of Brothers chronicles the experiences of these men from paratrooper training in Georgia through the end of the war. As an elite rifle company parachuting into Normandy early on D-Day morning, participants in the Battle of the Bulge, and witness to the horrors of war, the men of Easy knew extraordinary bravery and extraordinary fear - and became the stuff of legend. Based on Stephen E. Ambrose's acclaimed book of the same name.
