Bad Santa may be vile, crass, and misanthropic, but thanks to Glenn Ficarra & John Requa’s sharp script, Terry Zwigoff’s noirish direction, and fantastic performances from a superb cast, it has a genuine wit and real edge to it as well as a surprising amount of heart that’s twisted yet very much organic, and for that, it’s one of my favorite Christmas films of all time.

I have never been so uncomfortable and disgusted and cringed out from a character. I was waiting for character development and did not receive an ounce of it. I can’t wrap my head around someone actually enjoying this movie at all. I caught myself thinking about how people can consume this in a way of happy entertainment and felt that it sickened me. It made me disrespect anybody who could possibly even like bad Santa a little bit.

Quite funny and I chuckled a good amount. Billy Bob playing an all-time performance of a complete scumbag. Tony Cox cuts promos on people like he should be involved in professional wrestling and it’s great work. Love a good talker. This was mentioned on The Incomparable podcast as a Christmas film for adults and it’s certainly that. It’s quite funny in places and how many season films feature a black elf that has white pointy ears. Loads of drinking, expletives and shagging with a happy ending to boot.
