   Forty five minutes into this film, and the intensity was unbearable. I break into a pretty serious sweat, and my nerves are fried. Where is the creature? It could be hiding behind any nook, any cranny…it could be waiting for the perfect time to strike. My skin is crawling just typing this because I am reliving the experience all over again. It will be a miracle if I can get any sleep at all tonight. This will haunt me for quite some time. You know, I am reading that first paragraph again and I just realized it might be a tad misleading.    The movie runs 89 minutes and a full third of that is wasted introducing a ton of human characters who are treated like cannon fodder the second the title characters show up. Still, the effects are gloppily, gloriously practical and it’s hard to entirely dismiss any film where Sanaa Lathan wields a severed xenomorph head as a shield.

   90/100 More refined, contemplative, and formally inventive than Prometheus, and smoothed over with a gooey layer of sci-fi schlock right out of the early 50s. It’s essentially Paul W.S. Anderson’s The Thing From Another World; talkative, haunted by strange, triangular corridors and circular depths, and completely understanding of its own premise. Part H.P. Lovecraft, viscid horror, and 80s team-up videogame showdown, Alien vs. Predator flies past its own genre foundations as soon as it can, instead choosing to unleash stock (although memorable and never annoying) characters into macabre interiors festering with creatures and creepy crawlies. It’s a blast from beginning to end, divulging fanboy dreams and playing with iconography while still remaining spooky and tangible (there’s a flurry of practical effects here and they’re all wonderful). Not quite my favorite W.S. Anderson film, but it’s damn close. Practically an “At the Mountains of Madness” buddy picture. Flares and predators and facehuggers, oh my!

    This is a bad movie. Scripting, acting, and premise are not good. BUT. The FXs guys cmon. What ten year old doesn’t wanna watch xenomorphs and predators fight to the death. Deadliest warrior ass movie.

    eu gostei de como os aliens apareceram mais, uma das coisas q me incomodava nos outros filmes era q ficava muito frenético quando eles apareciam e eu queria ver eles. mas tirando isso, acho q mudaram muito a história parece q eu tava assistindo um filme da Marvel

    Not an amazing masterpiece or anything but it’s a fun time. The green grid design might lowkey be my favorite for the Xenomorph.
