INFINITY WAR: unwatchable space trash. one of the worst movies in the MCU. ENDGAME: a genuinely touching (and cleverly self-reflexive) mega-spectacle about how it feels to fail the people you love. one of the best movies in the MCU. i don’t make the rules! glad that the entire genre of superhero movies could end on a high note. (longer, spoilery thoughts to come on friday)

I’m not going to do a big long post for this one. It’s almost one in the morning and I don’t have it in me. Maybe later. For now I just want to get down what I think is my main problem with how these movies have developed, and where they’ve ended up. In that first Iron Man, Tony Stark takes forever to put his suit on. It’s a whole ordeal, with all these whooshing and whirring mechanical arms with a million different pieces to affix to his body. Putting on his suit isn’t an act, it’s a sequence. It’s not something he can just do. But that’s not the case by the time of Avengers: Endgame. Now putting on…

things i loved: 10) professor hulk 9) scott lang and hope van dyne being the most valid mcu couple 8) “HAIL HYDRA!” 7) peggy and steve finally getting that dance 6) jeffrey lebowski… very relatable 5) sam wilson as the new captain america 4) all those powerful women fighting together: from valkyrie queen of asgard riding her white winged horse to wanda maximoff aka the strongest avenger 3) cap worthy of lifting mjolnir (i internally screamed) 2) AVENGERS…………….. ᵃˢˢᵉᵐᵇˡᵉ 1) tony snapping, literally

i still cannot get over the fact that scarlett johansson, who is worth $140 million dollars, got paid to make and eat a peanut butter sandwich on white bread in this movie. i CANNOT get over this. A PLAIN PEANUT BUTTER SANDWICH. and she tries to share this one sandwich with steve, and then scott eats it later in the scene. IS THIS ALL THE FOOD THEY HAVE IN THE AVENGERS HEADQUARTERS? A BILLION DOLLAR BUILDING AND ALL SHE HAS IS PEANUT BUTTER AND A LOAF OF BREAD? ENOUGH

an adrenaline rush and exactly as gaudy as you might think, but also completely unique tonally in its approach. this feels like a special moment in film history at the very tippy top of the cinematic universe era that can’t possibly last for as long as people expect. in the scope of things, film is still in its infancy as an art form, and to see a spectacle like this that has so many moving parts is kind of remarkable, even if it’s not totally my thing. for better or worse, we’re living through one of the most exciting times in history to mass consume and bond over art, and that really is… something

30 I was going to start the conversation of Avengers: Endgame with some lame shit like “this is the bubble bursting” or “the longest filmic groan in existence” but that doesn’t really cut it, nor does it even matter. In just its first day, The Mouse has earned over 169 million dollars overseas in sweet superhero coin, and the film is expected to gross more than 260 million domestic in three days stateside. None of this is a parameter of quality, but it might as well be. Marvel has their lineup slate and their constant stream of success, both critically and with audiences, and the Thursday night crowd roared, applauded, and cried while they bought their matinee Sunday ticket during…

The first of hour is devastating showing the world in the aftermath of Thanos’s doing, it is horrific. Probably the most emotional I’ve gotten out of any MCU film was in that first hour. I think the reason I like this but not love is because it was just to ambitious, By far the most ambitious project the mcu has tried to make even more than Infinity War. but as I said it was just to ambitious, they tried but…

From the very first frame to the final gut-punch, Avengers: Endgame still hits like it did in 2019. As a die-hard comic fan who’s been here since Tony Stark walked out of that cave in Iron Man, this feels like the perfect, earned close to the story that started it all—and the perfect bridge into whatever Avengers: Doomsday is about to unleash. The emotional weight never lets up. That opening scene alone—quiet, heavy, the world still broken five years later—sets…

This movie is perfection. I laughed, I cried (a lot), and I was invested. This is the greatest marvel movie and one of the greatest movies of all time (in my personal opinion) I love every single moment in this film! Without this film, I don’t think I would be who I am today!

“—See ya in a minute” I watched this over the span of four flights that were all an hour and a half… Watching Nat’s death is literally not for the week AT ALL because I started to tear up like crazy in front of the flight attendant who brought me like four tissues— This movie never fails to amaze me based on all the cinematic elements and details that are added. For some, the blip was confusing to understand when…

Better than I remember, I quite enjoyed the resolutions to several subplots, but overall the main plot felt a tad bit chaotic and very weirdly paced.
