剧情简介

When an in-flight collision incapacitates the pilots of an airplane bound for Los Angeles, stewardess Nancy Pryor is forced to take over the controls. From the ground, her boyfriend Alan Murdock, a retired test pilot, tries to talk her through piloting and landing the 747 aircraft. Worse yet, the anxious passengers — among which are a noisy nun and a cranky man — are aggravating the already tense atmosphere.

Junesploitation 2026 11 Disasters! Is there much damage? No, not much, there’s just a hole where the pilots usually sit. I was watching the England vs. Costa Rica match last night, although it was delayed due to a tropical storm—of all things! That doesn’t bode well for this World Cup. Anyway, while watching, I noticed something both interesting and disturbing: the people sitting pitch-side were at actual tables, enjoying full meals! What is this utter woke nonsense? Just eat a lukewarm pie, as tradition dictates! After Declan Rice scored, I watched “Airport 1975” and couldn’t help but think about how Madueke missed a chance that my nan could have put away. Much like the luxurious stadium experience in Orlando, the…

“In 1917 I was flying in something wilder than this. Do you know who the pilot was?” “Wiley Post?” “No. Cecil B. De Mille, and we flew from Hollywood nonstop to Pasadena. Yes, and on the way home we did loop the loops so I could see the moon upside down.” Columbia Airlines Flight 409 – a Boeing 747 – is on a red-eye flight from Washington to Los Angeles. Among the passengers are an aging filmstar and a young girl who will receive an organ transplant in Los Angeles. When disaster strikes and the cockpit crew becomes incapacitated, stewardess Nancy Pryor (Karen Black) is forced to take over from them and fly the plane … Airport 1975 is a…

Very little of this movie takes place in an airport. Also it was released in 1974, not 1975. False advertising.

I seem to be stuck in a mix of Airplane disaster movies lately from Final Destination to Sully. In the middle of all that I keep trekking through the Airport series and it was really hard to take the 1975 sequel seriously. Primarily because I didn’t realize how much Airplane! riffed on this film especially with the little girl needing an organ transplant this time played by Linda Blair. You even have someone singing a song throughout the plane while playing guitar. I was in hysterics. Throw in Jerry Stiller who I can’t take seriously in anything without thinking of Frank Costanza and a mid air collision that sucks the pilot right out of the cockpit. It’s an entertaining sequel with an all star cast and much less melodrama this time out.

It seems if Charlton Heston is your pilot, then casual racism, sexism, and on-the-job harassment are just part of the in-flight entertainment package. The first “Airport,” even with its rampant marital infidelity, felt like something comforting you might watch at your grandparents’ house. Arriving only four years later, the sequel registers as far more modern, or at least far more Seventies, with an increasingly pessimistic view of the world.

Linda Blair plays a dialysis patient on her way to LA for a transplant. There’s a scene where she’s serenaded by a nun playing guitar. The entire time Im watching the scene Im thinking: ”this is The Exorcist II we should’ve got!” Terror at 20,000 feet! Imagine Regan terrorising a plane full of passengers while being transferred to LA for an exorcism. Could you imagine how Charlton Heston would’ve reacted to being told: “your mother sucks co€ks in hell!”😂

“Is there much damage?” “No, not much, there’s just a hole where the pilots usually sit!” When the team of Zucker, Abrahams and Zucker created their supreme comedic tribute to disaster films, Airplane! (1980), there were two obvious inspirations: one was the 1957 thriller Zero Hour!, in which a plane’s passengers fall ill from food poisoning, depending on whether they had the chicken or the fish for dinner, while the other source of parody was Airport 1975, a gloriously campy drama in which a flight attendant must fly a Boeing 747 after a mid-air collision directly into the cockpit either kills or gravely injures the pilots. It’s debatable whether there’s ever really that much excitement – one of the passengers happens…

Not nearly as engaging a set-up as Airport 1970, though with a bigger ensemble and only about 40 minutes of character/circumstance establishment before disaster strikes, I felt like I was watching a very special (if rather dull) episode of The Love Boat (I like The Love Boat). Picks up once the disaster elements come into play, and there are some genuinely great performances in this by Karen Black and George Kennedy (who was also in Aiport 1970). Tonally, much more grounded than I would expect given some of the melodramatic circumstances/character backstories, with the biggest saving grace being a sharper format and cleaner runtime (about 1hr 45min) than the first movie (2hr 15min+). There are some great aerial shots; some…

“Colonel, is this thing gonna work? It’s gonna be like trying to put a raw egg back in its shell!” Mini-Collab w/ Rob I’m calling it now: out of all the most incredible things ever to happen in a classic 70s disaster movie, nothing else can compare to flight attendant Karen Black shrieking “THERE’S NO ONE LEFT TO FLY THE PLANE!” after a smaller Beechcraft Baron has hit the Boeing 747 head-on and taken all the pilots out, followed by ground control asking her to describe the damage and she says “there’s a hole…” 👍 No, wait, scratch that. Bewimpled Helen Reddy serenading yet-again-bedridden Linda Blair about being a best friend to herself is definitely funnier. Perfectly parodied in the…

Movie theaters were crawling with all-star casts in perilous situations in 1974. Thanks to the success of past disaster hits Airport (1970) and The Poseidon Adventure (1972), Hollywood was primed and ready for more of the same. Earthquake, The Towering Inferno, and Airport 1975 all vied for disaster dollars in ’74, with The Towering Inferno coming out on top. Not only did it best the other two films at the box office, it also fared best with critics and Oscar…

I saw the sequels to Airport were leaving Netflix this month, so I figured, why not? It’s a whole new crew this time, although George Kennedy returns, this time he’s in charge of the airline! When a small plane hits a big plane and puts a big hole in the cockpit, it’s up to a brave stewardess to pilot that sucker through the mountains of Utah and land it safely. Mira que con la vibra pop que tienen los asientos del avión y con el carisma de las excéntricas personalidades que aparecen en este, yo pensaba que iba a tirar por algo más original que lo que acaba siendo. This was fun, but it was no Airport (1970). They spent about as much time in an airport as on a plane in that one. 1975 takes place mostly on a plane. Also, in 1975, a nun takes up a guitar, the prize possession of a young kidney-transplant-to-be Linda Blair, and plays a song about being your own best friend at full volume. I guess at least she didn’t sing about Jesus. I initially gave Airport (1970) three stars, but after watching this one I upgraded it to three and a half stars. I’m excited to watch the 1977 one for the Bermuda Triangle locale now!

71/100 I liked this! Maybe that’s because it’s the movie Airplane was mostly satirizing and it’s fun to see where the Airplane writers got their inspiration, but I was also pleasantly surprised with the tension and effects. Really solid. “There’s no one left to fly the plane!”

And Jerry Stiller slept through it all. Get through the first 40 minutes of establishing fluff and you’re in for a classic Airplane disaster drama. A huge upgrade from the unwatchable first film, is it full of genre tropes that the AIRPLANE! parody honed in on? Sure, but I can’t deny I enjoyed the latter half of this Heston feature. There were many elements here used in later disaster films such as AIR FORCE ONE and EXECUTIVE DECISION. Always something you can learn from the past that be applied to your future stories.

Compared to the original Airport film, this one is a lot more limp. Every scene that’s supposed to be tense doesn’t work. The sense of character that was in the original is almost completely gone here as well. And it doesn’t help that the sequence which inspired Airplane! is just as saccharine as you would expect.

A slightly less entertaining rehash of the first movie with far less talent comprising the ensemble cast. Takes itself way too seriously and does itself a disservice by eliminating many of the side plots and campy performances. It’s always to nice to see Linda Blair, though I suspect she will be long dead by the time the ambulance drives 10 hours from Salt Lake City to Los Angeles.

So much fun! First half of the film is funny due to the obvious inspiration for Airplane! (1980) and the second half is genuinely tense with some incredible stunt work (Joe Canutt’s name should come first in the credits). Truly though, there’s plenty of hilarious out-of-pocket dialogue. I can see why the Zucker brothers specifically chose 1975 to parody. But I just love the stunts and visual shots of the plane. Some great camera work. I know the tone of the film is patchy with a mix of comically bad lines and high-stakes action, but I find the ambitious action sequences to be truly impressive.

Continuing on with my watch of the complete Airport franchise, we’ve come to one that ramps up the camp. Somewhat of a rehash of the first film, the addition of Chuck Heston, Helen Reddy’s singing nun, plus a drunk Myrna Loy and Gloria Swanson showing why she’s the OG diva. This was fun but just really was a chore to get through.

An airplane collides with another plane causing a big hole in the cockpit and eliminates all pilots. So, a stewardess (Karen Black) needs to take over while her airport guy (Charlton Heston) tries to guide her… Much better than the first film as this one doesn’t waste much time to get to the good stuff and fully focuses on how to save a plane nobody can fly. That whole angle is handled very suspenseful, especially when people try to enter…
