A lot of people get mad when you refer to the increasingly stupefying level of material you have to consume to understand any new piece of IP franchise media as “homework” but if ever the term applied to anything it’s Ahsoka. Not a goddamn thing here will make sense to anyone who is not at the very least familiar with the broad strokes of a decade worth of other shows, but even if you are fairly up to date on all the characters and hows and whys of their situations at the start of this series, there’s nothing to latch onto but pure fan service in the form of Easter eggs and callbacks. Take out all the references and there…

Finally caught up. We’re 6 episodes in and this show as of right now is a tale of 2 halves. Episodes 1 through 3 weren’t necessarily doing anything for me. I’ll forever compliment the scale of these projects and the sheer attention to detail within set and production design. However, from a narrative standpoint it felt lazy and very “hey look its that character…hey that’s so and so from rebels.” In short, instances of very quick call-backs and character reveals for shock value surrounded by very shallow writing. Episodes 4 through 6 are stellar. Genuinely, some character interactions and shot selections that are among the best Star Wars we have seen. Episode 5 was the absolute stand-out. It is a…

Did I rewatch this entire show + Rebels to prep for S2? Yes. Oh boy. So first and for most, this show is (at its core) a continuation of Rebels, which is all well and good. The Ghost Crew deserves their closure, and it was obvious that the end of Rebels was setup for the story to continue in some way. That being said, how this show does that continuation is rather poor. There’s a massive jump in time between…

So I liked this. I never watched Rebels, but I did watch Clone Wars and enjoyed Ahsoka’s journey through that show. I wish she had stayed away from becoming a jedi again, staying independent, but whatever. Instead, I think I’ll rant about how shit the streaming model is. This show came out three years ago and the second season is due next year? Why the fuck should I care? I remember when you got 20+ episodes of a show EVERY…

i’m not gonna lie i really want every star wars show from now on to be at maul: shadow lord’s level. this show is just so disney-ified that it’s almost cringe. sabine has beskar armor all of a sudden (which is supposed to be rare and i personally think is what made the mandalorian so special until every single mandalorian ever ended up with beskar). the fact that she’s a jedi in training serves no purpose other than giving her…

Anakin was the best part about it…that’s it..

Was kinda dead til Hayden Christensen entered the chat. Episode 5 was insane I wish I could’ve seen it in a cinema. Score amazing as per for star wars. Kinda wished they explored Sabine being a mandalorian more especially after finding out all the lore about them with watching the mandalorian but maybe they’ll do that season 2 idk. Onto the final trilogy now ahhhh

I was extremely disappointed about this one. I really don’t get the hype. Sabine is very wrong in all aspects. She got easily manipulated by Baylan, as much as she loves Ezra, she wouldn’t have given away him map so easily, she’s a mandalorian and a rebel, it’s in her blood and heart. I also dislike how fast she got to have the force, despite no proper training. Mary Elisabeth Winstead as Hera is the worst decision they took, her…

PART FIVE: SHADOW WARRIOR This episode was a special case for Cobalt’s birthday, but I don’t see myself rewatching the rest of the series anytime soon. As a Star Wars fan, I go into ANY Star Wars wanting to like it, but this was as bland to me as it was three years ago, unfortunately.

They made the character the show is named after absolutely boring asf. Her only character trait is that she stands with her arms crossed all the damn time. The dialogue is so weird and unnatural as well. The best part of this show is actually the villain Thrawn, and when the villain is better than the protagonists you know something is wrong.
-

This piece of work is the second most offensive project after Kenobi. Four seasons of Rebels crafted a beautiful character in Sabine, never once hinting at any force sensitivity, but all of a sudden she’s training with Ahsoka- Oh but that happened off screen and we won’t tell you about it. She can’t even move a cup but suddenly can push Ezra a thousand feet in the air when the plot calls for it?? Are we serious? Not to mention…

Uninspired dull meandering slop. Also why is this on letterboxd, it’s not even a limited series? Couldn’t they have put Andor on here instead?

This is Filoni Baloney but in the worst way possible. Unlike Star War Rebels where I’d argue the execution was super weak but the characters were like able enough to keep me interested, this is the opposite. Shoutout to Mary Elizabeth Winstead and one of the Mikkelsen brothers tho they killed it as Hera and Thrawn. Production wise it’s obviously pretty solid but maaaannn the lightsaber fights in this suuuuuuuck. This felt more like a chore to watch and that sucks because Star Wars should feel exciting and fun but this really isn’t.
-
K

E
Ye no rush not like I wanted to watch season 2 anytime soon anyway. Should’ve 100% been animated. Translating animated characters and their voices which we have become attached to was never gonna go that well. The show isn’t awful though just wish it was animated and less dull.

Can’t really complain. It’s great to see what Ashoka was getting up to during the empire at there strongest but weak in a fair few ways

Seeing the rebels cast on screen was so cool. THRAWN was so GAS. Seeing Anakin and Asokha in live action was SPLENDID. Everything fucking else – POOOOOOOOO I swear if I ever get my hands on you Kathleen Kennedy

Only Star Wars fans should watch it for the connections of the story; too unwieldy for a lightsaber-based galaxy.

Such an incredibly mixed bag. For most of the stuff that happens here, there’s plenty that I also just can’t gel with at all. Most of all I think the change in medium hurts this show. A lot of it feels awkward, deliveries stinted, and environmentally not always particularly interesting. Yet at the same time, I actually really dig the Arthurian and larger than life mythology on display here. They were some of my favourite aspects of later Rebels seasons.…

Its fun!

E
The main problem i have with this show is the random weird decision making but i actuslly like the 3 villains, i just think they werent used as well as they couldve been. Ahsoka is well acted and so is thrawn and sabine. I think they could genuinely kill it with a good 2nd season as all the setup is already there, but the first season feels sort of like it was made for a second season
-
B
Im a fan of the clone wars, this one is great but it misses the mark, if you know what I mean.

Feels like the same formula as Obi-Wan. And that one didn’t fare too well for me, but it did entertain me a lot more in the second half of the season so it gets a half star more. Disney, if you’re listening, please stop ruining the best characters STAR WARS has to offer. I beg you
4 -
E
Oh look, another Disney+ show that only took me years to finish. The only thing I really actually liked about this show was Hayden’s brief appearance as Anakin. That was good. The rest fades into nothingness in my memory.
2 -
J
Disney plus ruined Star Wars. I have nothing against this show it’s just that Disney plus has made Star Wars a tv show franchise.
-
N
While I do enjoy this show SO much more, Ahsoka suffers from the same issue as The Book of Boba Fett: the titular character is a side character people were super excited to see that was used as as a medium to introduce and tell other stories. This almost feels like it should instead be named “The Search for Ezra.” Don’t get me wrong, though: I love the other characters in this show and think they did a great job incorporating plenty…

Pretty fun. I didn’t see Rebels or Clone Wars so I had no idea who these people were though. Wish they kept cartoons and live action separate.

It took me a while to finish this. I started it long after its release, and even then, I took my time getting through it. I liked every episode, but for some reason, I just didn’t feel the urge to binge it quickly. It’s strange because I really did enjoy the series overall. Hopefully, it won’t take me this long to watch Season 2 when it arrives.
-

It was great to finally see the rebels make it to live action. SEEING ANAKIN AMD AHSOKA REUNITE IN THE WORLD BETWEEN WORLDS WAS LEGENDARY AND I CAN’T WAIT FOR SEASON 2 JUST FOR THAT. I also wanna see Zeb and Ezra reunite cause that’s gonna be sick
-
T
-
E
Loved Ahsoka in clone wars, it was awesome to see her in live action.
-
C
-
I
8/10 serie
-
E
Watched all 14 episodes in one evening. I found it quite entertaining. It was nice to see a female centred cast in a male dominated industry. Ii is interesting that they are fleshing out the lore on what lies beyond the galaxy. However, i don’t find morgan elsbeth to be very compelling as a villain.
-
C
Thrown goat, the flashback scenes were cool – better not cock it up with season 2
-
C
Nice continuation of rebels
-
D
It’s okay Star Wars. Some good moments, others were mid. I see why some people would love this, but it just didn’t fully click for me. Probably because I haven’t seen Rebels.
-
G
After Mando Season 3, I didn’t have high hopes for Ahsoka, but was pleasantly surprised. I loved seeing everyone interact, and seeing Hayden Christiansen finally get respect for his Role as Anakin.
-
T
I wanted to like this so much. But there were just glaring issues from writing to direction. I’ve never been a huge fan of Rosario Dawnson’s performance as Ahsoka. It’s just never jived with me. Nothing against Dawson. She’s fine. How she plays it is not how I imagine the character. Hayden Christensen is a highlight in this series. Probably THE highlight. He reclaims himself like gang busters here! His part is what I enjoy the most.
-
S
Probably overrating this but live action clone wars and Ray Stevenson were epic 🤷🏻♂️
-
B
Rosario Dawson, I love you, but how do you manage to act so bored as a beloved character? Seems like everyone else in the cast is doing a far better job even with smaller screentime.
-
D
The worst season of Rebels so far. Ahsoka has lost all her presence and charisma, and we don’t care at all that we’re in a new galaxy.
-
J
Hayden Christensen can still swing a lightsaber.
-
S
Holy fuck this should’ve been rebels season 4 with a big timeskip and could’ve saved us from whatever that was.

Slop Wars. Couldn’t make it past episode 3, this is the crown jewel of corporate Filoni sludge. What a disservice to Rebels and Rosario Dawson.
