monsters university really said to the kids college isn’t for everyone! what a weirdly specific but reassuring life message to put inside a disney movie about a bowling ball with one eye

A reminder that the best thing you can be is yourself. Mike wanted to be a scarer but the best thing he could do was comedy. Second, embrace the journey. Mike and sully got expelled but managed to reach their dream by starting from the bottom and embracing where they were.

homoerotic live action remake with young Matt Damon & Ben Affleck when….? Behind the childish exterior, this is the start to a much longer tale of two best friends who harbor intense romantic feelings for each other over the course of a decades-long friendship. Mike and Sully are initially hostile towards each other due to their differences, which are the very thing that unites the two in the end. While Sully’s approach to scaring is based entirely on the simple act…

This will always remind me of watching this at uni with the BFF. Cherished husband’s childlike joy and giggles at his first time watch. Sick days aren’t so bad really

little Mike 🥹 yeah this is exactly what college is like

If the movie ended at the scare games, this would’ve been an okish movie. But the third act of this movie enhances the entire movie completely. The theme of “sometimes it just isn’t meant to be” is something I wasn’t expecting when first watching and I think it makes monsters university stand next to the original. It’s a topic that lots of people deal with but don’t see much in movies like this, which is always a good thing to see.

honestly great movie love how it ties everyone together but i think it’s completely unnecessary to monsters inc. monsters inc would’ve been an incredible stand alone movie.

the most underrated pixar film and possibly the funniest. a wholly original prequel film. which doesn’t make a lot of sense but every opportunity they have to make a clear set up for the original, they subvert it and go in a fresh unexpected direction. even its premise is pretty unique for a “children’s” movie: no matter how badly you want something or work for it, it still might not be your thing. however, that doesn’t devalue the thing you are made to do, it’s what makes you, you. Sully still top 3 betrayals ever though. he’s lucky Mike’s such a nice guy.

One of the best feel good movies with suspense and sadness. I’m in college right now and now that I am here this movie hits a little harder. They just don’t make them like they used too.

C
and if I said this was better than monsters inc

watched right before uni started bc it felt necessary
