Not gonna argue with most of the criticisms people have of this one but I’m sorry it gets the setup out of the way quickly and then transitions into basically 70 straight minutes of solid, mean monster mayhem/survival setpiece machinery courtesy of Johnston. Sometimes all you’re looking for is sturdy, economical photography of dinosaurs murdering people. It’s kind of insane how badly they messed this simple formula up with the World movies.

The raptors talk in this one. Also Laura Dern is a housewife now. At least William H. Macy has a sweet mustache.

I like this one, it has lots of dinosaurs in it, but minus a million points for the fact that after the army shows up there’s no army vs. dinosaur fight, I mean come on.

For me this is a flawed but fun movie. I am always entertained when watching this movie. The plane crash sequence is very intense. I love the scenes with the velociraptors. The dinosaur action in this movie is some of the best in the franchise. That being said, again some of the characters decision making is extremely questionable and illogical. The plot is also very thin, but it is a fun enough movie for me to want to re-watch.

it’s a better movie than lost world. that’s for sure. feels more exciting and real than lost world.lost world was bland but this one had the same energy as jurassic park 1 but barely. but it beats lost world, definitely.

“Nothing to worry about sir. It’s going to be a walk in the park.” Somewhere in the hour and a half run time, there is a good movie. A kid stranded on a dinosaur island. Dr. Grant struggling to keep his career and sense of self together, despite being synonymous with Jurassic Park. All that falls apart once you get to the island. With call backs to previous movies. Remember the satellite phone? Remember the tree? Remember being rolled around…

Shame that Amanda didn’t get eaten… every time (until the end) you don’t want to make noise she start whaling. Absolutely infuriating. One of the more recognisable Jurassic Parks, felt like this was always on TV around dinner time on a Sunday. Still really enjoyable even though there’s some let’s say interesting plot holes… Wish we had Dr Malcom featuring though. Makes every moment of avoiding being eaten entertaining. 3.3/5

Very funny that there was Krackel product placement in The Lost World, and Crunch product placement in this one. Those crisped rice candy bars just love dinosaurs I guess. Anyway, this is once again pretty dull and occasionally dumb. Also features an obnoxious and unrealistically smart child, who I hated. Crazy that out of 7 movies (and counting), only the first one is good.

if I had a nickel for every time Dr Grant gets almost killed by a dinosaur but is saved by a child, I’d have two nickels. which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it happened twice, right?

This movie feels kind of half-assed and there are a lot of decisions that were made to make this feel weak, even compared to the previous sequel which wasn’t great either. At least that one had Jeff Goldblum. This feels like a much smaller film, especially since the cast is so small this time around. Disaster films work better on a larger scale, not a smaller one. It also sacrifices any character work for a continuous dinosaur chase which can make the movie seem more like a theme park attraction than a traditional movie.

why did the directors successfully bamboozle me when it was revealed that alan and ellie WERENT married im mad as hell. a great end to this trilogy if you ask me! way better than the last one and thankfully none of the characters were anywhere near as unbearable as fuckass sarah.

My ma and my brother explained the mistakes in the description of the dinosaurs to me. I still don’t know how they know so much about dinosaurs.

Such a stupid movie that it’s honestly hilarious. The whole plot of two parents pretending to be millionaires just to trick Alan Grant into helping them find their missing son is so fucking ridiculous, and that’s basically the entire movie. The raptor scene on the plane with “Alan!” absolutely killed me, and the Spinosaurus was a pretty cool new big bad! and an effective one too; it’s iconic ringing phone is both funny and terrifying! I also loved the little…
-
M
It very much so got back to peak

-
K
Not great, but good enough. Raptors being more intelligent than humans if they survived extinction, do you think in that universe there will be Raptors going to their Raptor jobs to pay their Raptor bills?
-
A
-
L
Why did they involve Alan Grant in THEIR bullshit
-
M
“Look at all those negotiators” Jurassic Park III is obviously the weakest of the original three, but honestly, I think it gets a little too much hate. Maybe it’s the nostalgia talking, but I still had a really good time with it. It’s not groundbreaking and it definitely doesn’t have the thematic depth, wonder or Spielberg magic of the first two, but as a dumb dinosaur creature feature, I think it works surprisingly well. The story is definitely the weakest…
-
M
It’s a little weak but I love dinosawr
