A decent departure from Michael Bay’s bloated Transformers films and a bit more action-heavy for those who felt Bumblebee was lacking that, although it seems many fans like that one. I’m conflicted because for everything this film does right, it does something wrong. The pacing is tight, it has a solid cast, I like the focus on new Autobot characters as well as the new villains, and the effects are great. However, the characters are lacking and don’t have meaningful or memorable relationships. Obviously, this film avoids the stereotypes that plagued Bay’s films, but this also feels more corporatized, especially with the inclusion of the “Hasbro” logo at the start of the film. On the bright side, Rise of the Beasts returns the franchise to its roots by ditching the cringe humor from the Bay franchise and does a decent job creating some emotional rapport between the humans and autobots— not to the degree of Bumblebee but close. On the other hand, this movie aches for Bay’s eye for action. It’s the one aspect that at the very least was guaranteed when you walked into the Bay movies. You would think a movie called Rise of the BEASTS would, I don’t know, showcase the beasts? Thankfully the climax and final scene deliver some thrills and there’s a somewhat exciting, albeit strange, set up for the future of the franchise. Mostly underwhelmed, a little disappointed, but not completely unhappy.

Noah ve mirage çk komiktiler ya tam bi enayisiniz abi. Neyse herhangibirbilimkurgu filmiydi. Yani neredeyse her transformers filmi ayni. Just abimin zoruyla izledim. Yikes, this movie is definitely something. I felt no connection to the villains, nor the maximals. The problem is that they are extremely underdeveloped, and barely do anything. Half the maximals are basically non-existent. On top of that they managed to make Optimus Prime unlikeable. I disliked Optimus Prime in this movie. That should not be possible. With the mirage fusing with Noah stuff looking like Megaman I was praying for Kung Fu Cutman to show up and kick his ass. Also that GI Joe post credit scene genuinely made my jaw drop.

Got to see this one in theaters when it came out. The fight scenes and cast were alright, I love the new design of the new transformers in this one. But the plot was kinda stale and the human characters were just boring, which tends to be the reason why the they weigh the movie down a ton.

It was okay. Didn’t really care for the new human characters. Plot seemed not well written. I liked the new classic designs for the transformers though. Interesting choice to try to link up GI Joe with this at the cameo at the end. They probably won’t flesh it out due to how badly the movie did.

This movie gradually and continually annoyed me throughout the runtime. Starting with Big Monke being called “Optimus Primal” and culminating in a tie in to ‘G.I. Joe’ in the post-credits scene. With various annoyances in between. Overall: In theory a fun movie but it continued to irk and annoy me in ways that I can’t exactly explain
