I’ll start off by saying, I went into this with zero expectations and the hope I would come out liking it. Transformers: Age of Extinction is truly a horrible movie. I almost can’t even put into words how bad this film was and how much I hated it. The dialogue is horrendous; I was dumbfounded at what was coming out of these people’s mouths. Michael Bay is officially my favorite Werner Herzog character. an invaluable & grotesquely accurate self-portrait of corporate America. Bay is way too sloppy, but Mark Wahlberg plays an inventor, so…? not *nearly* as cinematically interesting as the last one (adjust accordingly), but it sure is weirder. and sillier. and TUCCIer. P.S. worth noting that Mark Wahlberg’s character’s family lives in Paris, Texas. this is obviously Michael Bay’s touching homage to his hero, Wim Wenders.

Was a 3.5 until that third act just started aura farming and being super cool and fun! Mark Wahlberg is great but Cade Yeager certainly isn’t on the same level as Sam Witwicky. Hes still good and brings a lot of heart to the film though! Apparently there is rumours of a transformers 6 in this timeline with Sam Returning, I really hope that’s true!

The production value and action seems are great. But not so great it’s worth sitting through 3 hours of slop and retreaded story beats to watch it. Man, talk about soulless. Someone needed to tell Michael Bay that there is ZEEO reason for these movies to be 2.5-3 hours long. And the production placement (Bud Light, Beats pill) is egregious. It’s one thing when it’s the cars. But this one takes it to a whole different level. The Dino bots were sick, bummed my kid self missed out on the toys I’m sure they sold millions of 😂

There’s no denying that this film did not need the whole Romeo and Juliet Law scene. They could’ve kept it all the same and it wouldn’t have changed the movie besides that specific scene. Also Tessa’s character goes through sexual assault throughout the whole film which leaves me pretty uncomfortable and upset if I’m being honest. Other than those grievances this film is fucking great but yeah those two major things put a damper on the film. That and the almost three hour long runtime.

The story is over complicated and is dragged out way too long. As with any Michael Bay movie this had some cool action sequences that at times were jaw dropping.
