honestly holds up! didn’t realize how much of this was permanently lodged into my brain until now. so many distinct moments rang with a ghostly memory of crowd laughter from when i saw it in theaters. this thing changed my life, gave all the most annoying people (present company included) such quotable ammo for years to come. paul rudd plays awkward/nervous so unbelievably well for someone so clearly charming. had a hard laugh at him rocking back and forth while drunkenly trying to get a cab. jason segel’s character suuuucks in hindsight though, every line makes me wanna dunk his head in a toilet

I thought some dialogue and scenes were far too corny but at the same time it was a really good fit??? Love Rudd when he’s in this bag though.

The last 30 minutes definitely follows the typical bromance formula/trope – but I really loved this movie and enjoyed it thoroughly, it really gave me some good laughs 😁

actually one of my favorite comedy movies ever. i don’t know why it works so well for me honestly but this is perfect. i love that this movie doesn’t fall into common comedic tropes. i can’t imagine another movie that wouldn’t have a subplot about how zooey thought sidney was a woman. instead, they made a funny one off joke and that was it. i feel like they actually behaved like real people for the most part which made the movie funnier. the cast is also STACKED.

I love you, Tycho Brohe.

Dudes platonically vibing and loving Rush. Out of the numerous ancient forms of love the Greeks philosophically understood this would be one of them. I try to make friends in my 40’s and I stumble my way into a raver poly-cule. 🤷♂️ which I suppose would also be philosophically understood as a form of love. Really the Greeks had it all figured out to an extent.

About half the jokes land, and the other half are quite cringe and not in a good way like Rudd and Robinson’s film Friendship. Definitely a product of its time in some ways and in others just a bit immature. The cast is pretty good, but a bit misused at times, and while there is a decent story at the heart of it. The film never knows what it wants to do, and then just kind of ends on a…

I just assume any movie from 2009 has Segel in it. He basically plays the same role in every movie but it never gets old. This one is a solid, funny watch. Plus, having Rush in your movie is pretty frickin cool.

This movie Is si good, and the actor selection IS ELITEEEE Jason Segal amazing as always

Paul Rudd’s awkward and embarrassing language in his lame attempts to be cool or whatever reminded me way too much with someone I used to work with. Yeesh. The billboard scene was a solid laugh, however.

Jason Segel’s Andre the Giant impression sold me.

Cast was studded. Obviously not supposed to be a visual masterpiece but really funny. Love that Rush got featured. Also Rashida Jones is my wife.

So many quotable and hilarious lines in this movie. So much cringe but you also can’t help but laugh. This will always be a top comedy for me.

I remember this not being as good and dragging but on this rewatch it was actually pretty tight! Rudd is great. Segal is his usual magnetic self. Rashida might be the best she’s ever been. The supporting cast is filled with actors who bring instant smiles. Music is absolutely on point throughout. Enjoyable easy watch.

I love an old Paul Rudd movie
-

2026 #840 I’d forgotten how charming this was, between Rashida Jones pushing her fiancé Paul Rudd into finding a friend, Rudd’s awkwardness, and Jason Segel ultimately looking out for him even though it seems at one point like he might be actively sabotaging the soon-to-be newlyweds relationship. But yeah, a comedy about the importance of male friendship is surprisingly wholesome stuff, and thanks to Rudd especially, pretty funny in places too.

Delightful film about how to be a loser that’s also hot

not the comedy i was expecting but it had a good storyline, i liked how they ended up becoming friends and actually enjoying being with each other. The wife was a bit in the wrong in my opinion because she wanted him to branch out and finally get some friends and when he did she didn’t like how absent he became. Honestly they really needed to communicate better, but good movie.

Alternatif başlığının How to Kill a Healthy Relationship Speedrun olması gerektiğini düşündüğüm film. Kaşarrrrr kız kankalarının dolduruşuna gelip bütün boş zamanını biricik nişanlısına ayıran, melek gibi davranan loyal adamı kendi fuckboy kocaları gibi dışarılarda sürtmüyor ve erkek kankalarıyla karıya gitmiyor diye kusurlu ve feminen lanse etmeleri mide bulandırıcı. Hele sonrasında da adam onlara yaranabilmek için arkadaş yapınca “fazla yakın oldunuz” diye sorun çıkarıp kıskanan, öncesinde elindekinin değerini bilmeyen toxic nişanlısını izlemek için peygamber sabrı gerektiriyor. Sadece evde sevdiği kadına sarılarak…

So much fun. At times, a little hard to believe Paul Rudd as the socially awkward wife guy who can’t make friends, but that’s a very minor complaint. Pretty much everyone is great and has chemistry. Overall, just a quick, fun comedy that doesn’t require too much work or thought.
