There are surprisingly few geostorms in this movie. Full review at ScreenCrush.

This was one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen. There were barely any Geostorms. Was kinda funny though.

I’m done with the space dads. I’m done with the sad dads who go to space. I’m done with the sad dads defined by dead or absent earth mums, these sad, isolated dads that go to space. I’m done with the sad, partnerless space dads that are humanised by having daughters – because that’s the scope of femininity in the space dad genre. I’m done with space dads. I would say send them to space, that’s how done I am with them, but the being in space is the problem. Maybe I should watch Mars Needs Moms.

100% here for this ARMAGEDDON / 2012 knockoff mashup garbage. They sent Gerry Butler into space because he truly belongs among the stars.

Back in 1994 I had a huge crush on a cheerleader at my high school named Ginger Jordan. The odds were decidedly not in my favor; I was a pudgy, oily-skinned, Zucker-Abrahams-Zucker-obsessed sophomore, while Ginger was a senior, one of the most popular students at the school, and only a few months away from heading off to college at UGA. Ginger tolerated my presence in a court-jester-to-the-queen sort of way—we shared the same drama class, during which I would use our short time together to try to prove my worth by showing off both my homemade ninja chicken comics and my ability to make myself pass out—and every so often I’d carry her books out to the parking lot after…

You have to give “Geostorm” at least a little bit of credit: For a movie about the potentially destructive power of 21st Century technology, it sure is a convincing example of the potentially destructive power of 21st Century technology. At this point, of course, it’s already old news that computer-generated effects have effectively defanged the disaster movie genre (shout out to the lifeless plastic likes of “2012” and “San Andreas”). And while audiences might not be willing to accept that, we’ve at least reached that point in the grieving process where we can appreciate its inevitability. Hollywood has always believed that bigger is better, that raw spectacle is the only thing that reliably seduces people back to the cinema, and…

26/100 A.V. Club review. Most people are complaining that there’s not enough geostorm, but I had almost the opposite reaction: So many cities are destroyed during the countdown that our heroes’ efforts to prevent the geostorm seemed kind of pointless. It’s already happening, Gerard. Everyone’s dead. Just stay in space.

Yea that was so boring These kind of movies r not my jam i only watched it because i wanted to see the tsunami (it wasn’t worth it) Alao yeah let’s just skip over how millions have died from all this and live happily ever after, with our good moral president that cares so much about humanity

1. Why does everyone speak so breathily? 2. Gerard Butler’s American accent is so bad 3. Why didn’t we see a single geostorm? 4. Why is the script so bad? 5. Only mildly (and I mean really mildly) redeeming quality was the badass secret service lady This is SUCH a 2010s action movie.

Absolutely terrible! I had a great time! Gerard Butler has never been less convincing as an American let alone a space/weather scientist. As the world’s Number 1 Andy Garcia fan I was always gonna see this but why are there so few scenes of weather carnage rather than dull space station stuff? If you want a third-act twist villain don’t cast Ed Harris, he’s a great actor but utterly incapable of hiding his menacing energy.

Mid film but with a decent cast. The premise sounds better than it is but nevertheless was hooked for the majority of it

Decent film – plot deviates from what I expect of this trope but makes sense for a Gerard Butler film.

la típica película palomitera que si no atiendes tampoco pasa nada, me la ha pelado heavy pero tampoco está mal

Shed a tear at the end for the boy and the dog. And for the brothers. Average film, plane watch.

This movie literally is just about the end fo the world and to never trust anyone. Even the ones you’re close with or thought you were close with. “You can’t undo the past, all you can do is face what’s ahead”

At least the dog survived

This movie is a great example of “The Rock” effect. You have this untouchable main character that always comes face to face with death and ends up surviving. There is no sacrifice, no celebration earned. He survived, his crew survived, his family survived. The only people who really suffered are the villains. If his daughter were to come with him and say for example, an explosion happens where she gets sucked out of the station and dies, then his sacrifice of staying on the station would make sense but instead he decides to leave his only child on a burning planet

Minus a half star for the first 20-25 mins I spent wondering if I should continue or if this was a waste of the investment of my time. Then he got up there and I was like okay I’m interested. To be honest, the plot is so so and kinda easy in a way. Yes it’s very 2012 or Day After Tomorrow but it was still a fun silly little vibe at times and I’m kinda surprised they were still making this kind of thing in 2017 but maybe it was fading out.
