By what we read on the synopsis, I was expecting something more dark and serious and not something so brilliantly funny and entertaining! Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels is the perfect blend of crime and humour. I think every single performance was great, the characters are extremely funny and despite the fact that they are all a bunch of criminals and swindlers they are all very likable. Visually different, with a great camerawork. The dialogues are excellent, the plot is amazing and the ending is absolutely fantastic, it couldn’t be a better end for this story! Guy Ritchie did a terrific job directing this film! And it’s a gangsters flick! How could I not like a good gangsters flick!? If you are like me and you did not watch this until now, you don’t know what you are missing. Please, watch this right now!

Before Snatch, Guy Ritchie made Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels first. Both films follows the same formula and style (heist premise, criss-crossing storylines, overabundant characters, smash cut editing, witty British lines) – and it is absolute madness. If I had to choose though, I pretty much prefer this one because it’s funnier, smart, less confusing, and way more fun. Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels is fucking clever from start to finish. Guy Ritchie develops these seperate characters and their storylines, then masterfully intertwines them together to form a highly entertaining crime craper full of ironic twists. The assortment of eccentric and colourful characters were all fun to watch. The film also never loses its wicked sense of humor. The witty British banters being sprinkled throughout were delightful to the ears. The ending is also unforgettable. Yeah, this is now one of my favorite comedy films.

that final scene was more stressful than both the spongebob episode with the bus at night and the spongebob episode where they had to paint krabs’ house combined

Vinnie Jones getting into his AC cobra with his leather coat on while Fools Gold is playing is still one of the coolest things I’ve seen in a film.

Four likely lads get in over their loafs to the local kingpin babbling brook when they spy easy wonga to be made from a bit of a naomi on the ol’ bladders. And would you adam and eve it, the john is fixed, the ken loaded, so now they’re in loads of barney as they’ve only got a bubble to produce the sausage or face an unscheduled meeting and end up brown. It’s a tufnell right from the scapa!

Been two decades since the last watch and was still an absolute delight. Just stunning plotting delivered with such pace and energy, and that soundtrack… It’s a deal, a steal, the sale of the fucking century.

This film was made in 1998 but it gave 80s vibes. I like the way they used the color grading throughout the film to depict BAD LONDON.

Great movie, excellently directed, the acting of especially Jason Statham 10/10. One of the few films that cling to actors with their jokes and charisma.

I still find it really funny that Vinnie Jones ended up being an actor with a very impressive filmography. Really enjoyed this; just seemed to scratch an itch personally. So many stories going on that tie together in a very satisfying way (in kind of a similar way to Pulp Fiction) which I’m a sucker for. Some incredible characters and a great soundtrack; particularly enjoyed the scenes with Fools Gold and Zorba The Greek. Comedic aspects were really well executed and not OTT/over the top/detracting from the actual plot. Caught off guard twice by the appearances of Rob Brydon and Sting.

this movie and Trainspotting make 90s England look pretty fun. it surely wasn’t (if England was so great why did we make a New England? checkmate), and i don’t think that was the intent (crime and degeneracy aren’t most people’s idea of a good time), but it sure “seems a right laugh” to me. the color grading is hideous for no good reason, but awful stylistic choices are inherent in novices emulating Tarantino. this is more entertaining than that other 1998 debut from a British auteur.

Really fun movie, low rating doesn’t mean bad. A good fun light harded movie that’s funny. The one actor that plays the guy that played cards is a really good actor.

maybe I need to watch this again when I’m not drunk and tired but I kept getting all the characters mixed up (there’s so many and they all look the same) and it felt overly complicated. ending scene was great though

I don’t know what genre this movie counts as but I am still absolutely here for it. A crime comedy? It’s not a heist but it is a story about a bunch of different groups of hard (and one very soft group) criminals messing things up in a very dry British Humor kind of way. Once again we have Jason Statham playing a small time tough but not an action star yet. The story follows him and his toughs ending…
