The cinematography was so so gorgeous also 🥹 Even if it was a bit harder to understand since there is really alot happening in the span of 2 hours i think this movie is so fucking great and i will be rewatching it as soon as i look up all the theories about it ..

boring as hell and feels like the writer himself doesn’t even know what he’s writing or he’s writing straight bullshit and then trying to figure out how to connect all the bullshit he wrote, even having understood the movie perfectly it’s really not that good, it touches interesting topics in physics and philosophy, but doesn’t know how to do it properly. in short it’s a mid movie for people to feel smarter than they actually are.

I watched this last night, the directors cut this time around (I’ve seen the theatrical enough times) the directors cut gives it a better ending and gives you more of an understanding to how the movie works. Going further into the living recipient and the Living anomaly and explaining more of the more important things in the film. Overall, I have always loved this film and the directors cut just made me love it more

O assisti pela primeira vez no dia 14 de julho do ano passado, um dia antes do meu aniversário, e desde então ficou marcado no meu coração. I must have watched a different film ig. This movie gave me nothing. Even after reading reviews and watching videos on abstruse theories, it made me feel nothing. This was one of the most popular films on Letterboxd that I hadn‘t seen yet and now I regret having watched it. I liked the idea of still having this ‚masterpiece‘ on my watchlist.

THEATRICAL CUT. Still so good, sometimes I really cannot tell if I fully understand this movie because I love it when films challenge me in an engaging way. Maybe it’s about what it means to be alive? Donnie knew his fate. This is one of those rare movies, that I started liking from the first moment. The score, the setting – it had some hypnotic essence to it. This movie almost gets most of its subplots executed very well. It keeps you guessing and rewards your attention with tight screenplay and storyline. The scene that stuck to me was – in the end as Donnie being killed is put in the hearse – Gretchen standing on the road with her bike – waves to Donnie’s mother. I thought that maybe Gretchen is Doonie’s mom & one of them have time travelled.

Prefiro tratar desse filme não como um quase sci-fi que trata de universos alternativos, mas sim uma pegada mais transcendental. Creio que donnie (por mais absurda que seja sua morte) sempre esteve morto, ele apenas visualizou seus últimos momentos com perspectivas e escolhas diferentes, de forma mais ousada. Aquilo que frank chama de viagem no tempo é nada mais que o fato já consumado.
