Minions: The Rise of Gru is the cinematic equivalent of rattling keys to distract a baby.

If I had nickel for every movie this year where Michelle Yeoh does Kung Fu and there’s a pivotal rock with googly eyes, I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened twice

This movie starring Michelle Yeoh features a sub-plot about a rock with googly eyes. Coincidence? I think not 🤔

this was funny asf i think this might be my fave minion movie

Liked it a little less than minions because of all the supernatural nonsense, but then I will be making a categorical error if I didn’t accept it’s all fiction in the end.

When I first watched this, I liked the previous instalment more, but now I actually like this second one a little less. Positioning Gru as the protagonist and focusing the film around his dynamic with Wild Knuckles gives this film a stronger emotional core and perspective than the first had. However, the actual mentor-mentee stuff between Gru and Wild Knuckles is not even very special or interesting. The weaker supporting cast than the first is what really brings this one…

Lucu, idk this film was so good back then, the story peak banget luv luv :3

J’adore cet univers et ces personnages. Mais là… Quelle déception. L’histoire se disperse, il se passe beaucoup trop de choses, j’ai décroché au bout de 45min. Aussi, l’univers disco ne m’a pas emballé.

Watched with Josh and Liam. The minions are not getting old to me yet and I enjoy trying to figure out what they’re saying. The plot does enough to keep me entertained. I found the young Gru character more compelling than the adult version.

I need the Minions’ singing ability IMMEDIATELY. I am SO Bob. Like genuinely, Bob is so me 😭 he’s so cute and adorable I can’t handle him. I also loved seeing Dr. Nefario and all the little references to Despicable Me. And when Wild Knuckles said “shoot for the moon” and Gru literally went on to STEAL THE MOON years later?? 😭 the foreshadowing was FORESHADOWING. Also the scene where Master Chow defends the Minions from the bad guys felt…

So does Gru give the minions optical and dental insurance, or is Gru paying all of that out of pocket?

Watched during family dinner. Had butter chicken and ice cream so that definitely added to the experience. Assigning Ale as Kevin, Sabrina as Bob, and me as Stuart definitely made it 100x funnier. Cool movie

I am surprised they have been able to keep up the minion magic for this many movies but they have managed to knock it out of the park again.

Lots of minion ass here

I like how they made a whole film dedicated to Gru’s backstory and how he became a villain. The Vicious 6 concept was also really fun, and the final boss fight was super entertaining.

I’m bob, mily is stuart, ale is kevin, and kristel is the baby chick minion. This movie was epic🤟.

There was like so much going on most of it didn’t make like any sense. Definitely not the best of the franchise.

What I found interesting is that Wild Knuckles’ story mirrors Gru’s from the first movie. He was a famed villain who is being sidelined because he is considered past his prime and he eventually accepts that fact and finds new meaning in taking a young kid who he originally didnt like and was using as a means to an end under his wing.
-
H
Good not bad not best but good. Liked young gru and how aura he is. Minjins never fail except recently with that shit movie but ugghhhhhh. I like bad villain group very cool and I want to be a supervillain the end
-
L
I had to watch this 4 times with my summer camp. Please forgive my hatred of this film.
