This movie was probably scarier back then when we didn’t know this is just average AirBnB host behavior when you misplace the remote by 2 inches

Filme de terror irado Começo muito legal, deixa um clima de suspense interessante. Metade começou meio estranho mais desenhou para onde iria. Final foi bom, do tipo que encerra os arcos.

Very well done, the split protagonist parts were done better than in Weapons. Cregger was able to splice together multiple perspectives to add backstory without it feeling shoehorned in or like it was solely for expositional purposes. It fed the story in a way that seemed natural. It felt like Skarsgård was the intended choice for Kieth or that a certain line of dialogue was written with him in mind, excellent casting overall. I did appreciate the street being named Barbary, I just love the little stuff. Very satisfying film in certain aspects and disturbing in others.

An awesome movie about how landlords and/or rapists should kill themselves

I at one point could not bring myself to watch this without being on the edge of my seat until the fnaf foxy jumpscare water tower TASM2 jump that sent me reeling. Also creepy window scene was unnecessary.

At what point of the movie did you realize that Mother wasn’t the true villian of this film, but was another victim of these type of grotesque men? Frankenstein, like most men, never stopped to think about whether or not he should create the monster, but only that he could. So he did. Frank did as well, though created by a more barbarous way… His monster became Mother. AJ was no better than Frank. The police listened no better than AJ. And Keith trusted Tess no more than the police. And that toxic ex? I think he is the least of her concerns now.

I just watched this movie for the second time and it’s just as good as I remember! I just remember thinking when I first watched it that Keith was the bad guy and I was so sure all the signs were there but then learned real quick that wasn’t the case! This movie is so good the plot, the twists! Phenomenal! The actors and actresses are amazing! Such a great watch!

It was really weird seeing Justin Long in this after watching Waiting because I was like “oh I know that guy!” And then it was all like “oh . . . I don’t wanna know that guy, I don’t know that guy”

Pro: Abstract approach to a thriller. Con: The “thrills” became predictable as the movie progressed.

this was so stressful to watch oh my god why were they making the stupidest decisions like GET THE FUCK OUT OF THERE?? Aj was not worth risking ur life over girl😭😭

Uh. Hm. Very uh interesting and gave me a fear of boobies. Also should have been a romcom. Oh no! There’s one bed in our Airbnb!

So well paced and so unpredictable. For a horror movie connoisseur, I was actually scared.

Weird asfff I love it

Watched this again with my 16yr old daughter. She was like “wtf?!” for the last 30 min.
-
S
At no point in the movie did I guess where it was going to go (except when Justin Long’s character was confirmed to be in fact an asshole), it was wildly unpredictable while setting all the pieces of the puzzle. And in the end, the true horror of the story was men and the police, that tracks

this is a contender for stupidest female protagonist to exist. i wasn’t even scared i was just annoyed as fuck that she wouldn’t stop going into that dungeon. genuine ragebait. also the entire premise that the monster is a super inbred woman whose father couldn’t stop raping women is so weird. just not a good movie tbh but it was satisfying that justin long’s eyes got popped out LOL also acab
-
A
It twas not scary & story felt incomplete & kinda pointless
-
R
Bring back Justin Long
-
T
Weird movie.. but a fun watch… I think?? AJ is prolly one of my most least liked characters I ever seen.
-

This shit is sick and twisted, I LIVE. RIP to Keith he didn’t deserve that. I was high-key suspecting him to be shady, but oh well. Every character in this movie managed to piss me off to no end…UGH. The way homeless man Andre warned Tess saying that “The Mother” isn’t even the worst thing in that house, which we didn’t know until later was Frank, the serial kidnapper/rapist that created “The Mother” through inbreeding…BITCH GAG. She too was a victim in all of this, so I kinda felt bad for her before her death in the end. Nice film.

Barbarian was a breathe of fresh air for the horror genre. I am a devote lover of all things horror. Barbarian finds it’s charm in it’s genuinely unsettling setting, and somehow successfully incorporates the modern world in a way which doesn’t feel forced. The creature is rather appalling, and the puppet/machinery used can come off as cheap at times, the story is well written but has room for improvement. I watched Barbarian alongside someone else and I got quiet the kick out of watching how horrified they got. We ended up having to turn off the movie, and I later finished it alone.

sentí auténtico miedo, pero me encantó todo, la estética más que nada

good film, kinda unserious at times but honestly that just made it more fun/comedic 😭 the jump scares actually got me a little, so i can’t even lie. a little on the sad side too with that mother monster. the movie had me questioning everyone’s decisions the entire time 💀 definitely a fun watch though. 10/10 for my daddy bill skarsgård.

Creepy as hell! Well done, great writing for the story, we as an audience were not left hanging on why this house, the mother and other things are the way they are in addition to it not being overly complicated. I liked the horror factor mixed in with the weirds of the “baby saving” creatures, the death scenes were also pretty cool! So far both movies were great and enjoyable so I cant wait to see how resident evil turns out. I am also a bit sceptical about video games movie adaptation but I think this one is in the right hands.

-
K
The setup for the movie is pretty good, I was intrigued until the barbarian showed up and then couldn’t take it seriously because it looked like gollum with massive tits. It has some good scares, the subplot with the dad is super dark and done well enough, but the barbarian really doesn’t seem to follow the rules they claim it follows with how it just kills the homeless guy for no reason unless it’s racist idk. Overall hits some emotional aspects but really doesn’t do the horror super well after the barbarian is revealed, the gross out stuff isn’t really my cup of tea.

I really need to watch Obsession and The Substance for a second time but this might be my favorite horror of the 2020s. Justin Long is my dude.
-
E
okay but.. she was highkey a victim tho.. i enjoyed this and it unsettled me however my boyfriend did call everything that happened like 15 minutes before they were revealed to be happening and that either leads me to believe the writing was a bit predictable or he would write an incredible horror movie, tbh i’m more inclined to believe the latter. my favourite element was the array of male archetypes we’re given in this movie and the way they…

really enjoyed the twist of keith not being the villain. the classic horror moment of dropping the gun definitely brought the rating down
-
S
Maybe I overhyped the movie. Started out interesting enough. But similar to Weapons, I thought the main antagonist was way too over the top, and irrational. E.g., why would she drag Justin Long’s character to nurse him after attacking him? Justin Long btw, was a solidlt written character with his questionable motives, and love the casting of him in that role. But overall, not enough to save a questionable storyline. Overall, 7.1 / 10

M
Great set-up and payoff in a horror that continuously peels back its plot. Character are well developed making there choices though out the movie make scene instead of just pushing the plot forward. Throw in some funny moments that don’t detract from the horror and you have a very solid movie.
-
L
liked this a lot also bill skarsgård 🥵 so glad the main girl lived to be the final girl but she had wayyyy too much of a savior complex for me like personally i would’ve saved myself and not gone back for that fuck ass man but obviously that’s the point like these women giving their all and being taken advantage of and then harmed lots of sociopolitical commentary in the movie that i appreciate in my horror films so overall love
-
M
So much tension.
-
A
Really enjoyed this. Crazy, weird ass concept and I liked the uniqueness of it along with the misdirection at the beginning. Also like Justin Long and his character it this while a pos was fun.
