The romance between Letty and Dom actually works for me in this movie because of Los Bandoleros! Movie has the same ending as Die Hard 2 and Toy Story 2. Love it!! Take a drink every time this franchise reminds you Brian used to be a cop.

To this day, I do not fully understand how I get so little pleasure out of a movie where a car fights a tank, Luke Evans talks with absolute sincerity about his code of honor in a series of handsome distressed jackets, and Vin Diesel spends 35% of his scenes with his arms crossed so his muscles remain flexed and big at all times. It should not be scientifically possible for me to give this motion picture less than 12 stars. And yet here we are.

90 I thought I preferred Fast Five, but while Justin Lin’s deep-dive into the ‘Ocean’s Eleven’/’superhero’/Crime-caper mixtape genre is definitely successful (I mean, how could it not be? They tow a fucking BANK safe through downtown Rio.), it is outmatched by the Telemundo soul and the surreal escapades of the set-pieces in Fast and Furious 6. This entry has it all: cars *specifically designed* to flip other cars, The Vin Diesel Brood face, Paul Walker getting angry, Tyrese Gibson being surprised at the chaos around him, Gal Gadot, Michelle Rodriguez, and Gina Carano never lowering their bravado below the level of ‘complete-unadulterated-badass’, never-ending establishing shots, a gigantic tank which has the power to run over other cars like they’re potato…

I think this movie is fantastic but just didn’t have the fast and furious feel it felt super out of character with this movie. The whole final fight scene was insane and really cool but looked like it would be in marvel before a F&F movie. But again it was great scenes and Owen Shaw was an amazing villain. The plot twists in this movie were like no other and I had a great time watching.

they dropped “fast” from the title card; could’ve just called it “6”. it’s never a good sign when the opening credits contain clips from previous movies. amnesia is handled about as deftly as the average soap opera. at least The Dwayne had the decency to trim his goatee and towel off for this one. another slightly misleading “extended edition”, 53 seconds longer than the theatrical release. incidentally, this is the lone steelbook release in my collection. it’s neat i suppose but paying more for packaging is silly (if your Vinegar Syndrome shelf has a bunch of slipcovers, i’m judging).

Luke Evans is kinda generic and weak as a villain, but thats not really been the strong point of any of these movies. Still absolutely carried by the bonkers action setpieces and charming character interactions. Also didnt realise till about an hour and a half in that this is the only one id seen before, but that tank on the bridge sequence, that brought it all back, so good. In all fairness if the film was just the last like 50 minutes it’d be worthy of 5 stars, its mental, longest runway ever. Worst credita needledrop in the series so far.

A ver, como película de acción es entretenida, tiene un buen final, le dan un buen trasfondo a Letty y el villano para mi es uno de los mejores de la saga. El tema es que a partir de acá ya se empiezan a ir a la mierda. Está bien que Toretto sea un personaje pijudo, pero voló atravesando un puente para atajar a alguien en el aire para aterrizar en un parabrisas, y acto seguido se levantó como si hubiera aterrizado en un colchón Cannon. ¿Y el cabezazo volador a un gigante de 2 metros? Ok so the main problem here is that Fast Five was so good, they figured they could lean into everything. The super team up, bringing back characters from the dead, and going more into heists/manhunts and away from street racing. It’s a fun movie, much like 5, but the ridiculousness is going off the charts. I still like this one tho. It’s top 5 in the franchise, only behind 1,5,2&3. Sounds like a lot, but this is an 11 movie…
