Captivity is a real throwback for me, one of those films I distinctly remember seeing a terrible, low-quality trailer for back in the day while having absolutely no memory of the actual film itself, and after finally watching it, I can totally see why. Taken on its own terms though, it’s a solid little genre joint that taps into a frequency very similar to the Hostel films, and because of that, I was honestly pretty entertained throughout. Özellikle o blender sahnesi artık kusturacaktı resmen. Filmin genel anlamda bu kadar ağır şeyler içermesi hoşuma gitmedi ama garip bir şekilde ilk yarım saatten sonra Gary karakterinin gelmesiyle film açıldı. Yalan söyleyemeyeceğim Daniel’ın en iyi görünüşü olabilir bu filmdeki hali. Diş çekme sahnesi de bu pazartesi 20’lik dişimi çektirecek olan bana yeni bir fobi eklenmesini sağladı🥲 Yine de her şeye rağmen süresi kısa olduğu için öylesine izlenebilir içinde ters köşeler bulunuyordu ama bir daha izleyeceğimi hiç düşünmüyorum.

Has some nice gruesome grime to its look courtesy of Texas Chainsaw cinematographer Daniel Pearl but everything else about this kidnapping torture thriller is so boring the producers had to go back and reshoot all the gore porn so they could sell it as a Hostel/Saw knockoff, and even then best they could come up with is a scene where they make her drink human goop like she’s shotgunning a beer lmao. Beyond the climactic image of the kidnaped model destroying an image of herself (that the film doesn’t effectively build up to at all) I have a hard time believing Larry Cohen wrote this.

I feel like there is a decent movie in here somewhere, and I did like some moments of gore. I even enjoyed some of the story telling. The actors are pretty good and while pretty obvious, I like the twist. Killing the dog is going to cost half a star though. That’s too far.

TFW you track down the director’s cut of a film to watch over the theatrical cut because you’ve heard it’s the better version of the film, but you’re so bored by the DC that you wonder if you should’ve watched the TC because maybe it would’ve been memorable somehow… I’d say I’ll watch the TC of this eventually, but fool me once etc. etc.

I kinda saw the plot twist ending coming, and while this definitely had decently gross parts where I was worried the main character was going to be tortured horribly to death, it wasn’t too scary. If anything, this movie was kinda horny as hell 😭 the climax was also kind of a boring let down, but at least our girl survived! Also, I love Daniel Gillies in anything so I was at least happy about that.

so assisti pq tinha o elijah e sinceramente? erro meu. as vezes a gnt vê um homem bonito sofrendo em outro contexto e acha q isso vai sustentar um filme inteiro. não sustenta. no máximo sustenta minha ilusão por uns 20 minutos. o filme tenta muito dar medo e da pra perceber isso pq n funciona. eu queria sentir medo, mas senti principalmente confusão, impaciência e uma leve vontade de checar o twitter. achei ok, vim pelo elijah, vi até o final, saí com a sensação de que klaus teria resolvido isso em 5 minutos.

Très tendu et particulièrement glauque, le film instaure une ambiance réussie qui maintient efficacement la tension. Malgré tout, l’ensemble reste assez soft pour les amateurs du genre. Les différents retournements de situation sont bien amenés et rendent le récit divertissant jusqu’au bout. Une bonne surprise, sans pour autant laisser un souvenir impérissable.

فيلم Captivity يشبه سلسلة saw.. عارضة أزياء يتم خطفها واحتجازها داخل زنزانة مع شخص غريب.. الاثنين يبدون رحلة يائسة للهروب من خاطف سادي… هذا كله قبل ما تقلب النهاية كل شيء رأس على عقب.. الفيلم ممتع.. لكنو طبعا لا يصل لمستوى Saw.. واعتماده الأكبر كان على الصدمة أكثر من عمق القصة.. النهاية رفعت مستوى الفيلم أكثر ما كنت متوقعة.. و لهذا يحصل على العلامة الكاملة من عندي 10.10♡

Suzie was definitely 3/4 accessory and one part dog the way she kept getting picked up and placed on different surfaces, never seen a crusty white dog laying on a sink before. In my film viewing history, it’s not often I get bodily experiences watching films. Violence inflicted to the eyes will make me cover mine, and I’m known to limp if I see someone’s Achille’s getting cut, but between this and Terrifier 3, I’m finding that I can’t take seeing something forced down a person’s throat. Not a film to watch while eating.

This was actually better than i had it in mind after the first view. Watch the unrated version of this. It’s much bloodier. The us dvs is unrated.I believe that in the r-rated version isn’t any blood and gore and less torture scenes. I’ve seen a lot worse of torture porns like this.Also Elisha Cuthbert is pretty good in this. I really love her in the girl next door.

Found this movie dirt cheap online in the shape of a steelbook that has real sand in the cover, looking like the poster. Thought it was a funny gimmick and i believe i saw another with some fake blood inside. Turns out in a world filled with Saw-like movies there are some knock-offs that are pretty decent. This being one of them i suppose. I mean, there are Saw movies out there worse than this right? Disagree much? Ok, well as long as you’re not locking me up in my bathroom and start filling it up with sand, like an hourglass, we good.

Watched the original “thriller” version, before the added gore reshoots. I love Elisha Cuthbert and have had a soft spot for this movie since it came out. For much of the film it stays bubbling at an anxious temperature, but never quite boils. I still prefer this version though to the re-edited “torture porn” version that was released in the US. I prefer suspense to some of the gross stuff that occurs in the re-do.

A tense survival horror thriller that delivers some genuinely uncomfortable moments. While it leans into the mid-2000s torture horror trend, it does enough with its suspense and atmosphere to stay engaging. Uneven at times, but more effective than I expected.
