Sympa, mais clairement moins fort que le premier. Le twist de la fin fonctionne, mais je l’ai trouvé moins marquant que celui du 1. J’ai quand même bien aimé le double jeu avec la maison, le père qui pense devoir retrouver son fils alors qu’il est juste à côté depuis le début. Ça se regarde très bien, mais le premier reste largement au-dessus.

Genuinely the turning point of the series, after 1, 2 seems like genuine heaven omg 😭😭 the beginning of Saw and the amazing plot twist, this is top 3 saw movies ever. 100% my favorite. And always will be! The needlepitt and the traps are just. Insanely iconic and amazing.

The main draw from this movie for me is Amanda and Daniel’s wellbeing. Other than that, the characters are pretty prone to making stupid and selfish decisions. It does leave me leaning back in my seat with a monocle over one eye and a cigarette at my lips pondering how I, personally, would solve this situation if I was there. But when you are slowly dying I suppose you would do anything to save yourself. Xavier is an abusive father allegory.

I liked this film, the sets were really good and I enjoyed the acting. It was cool to learn more about John and Amanda and see their dynamic. I wish I could’ve known more about the other characters involved in the traps. I preferred the first one as I was able to fully understand the characters involved and their motivations. The traps in this one I felt weren’t as creative, aside from the needle pit that was cool.

Achei esse melhor que o primeiro pq tem muito mais cenas agonizantes e tals, sem falar que esse filme é mais dinâmico do que o primeiro pq fica alternando entre o pessoal da casa e os policiais. Só acho que o terror psicológico diminuiu um pouco pq a gente sabe quem fez tudo e tals, não tem mais o mistério de ser um negócio mistérioso

Wasn’t as good as Saw I for me. I did like how methodical Jigsaw appeared to be with regards to his planning, although it seemed kind of obvious that a man facing an incurable cancer would incorporate his own death into the grand scheme of things.

I enjoy that this movie turned into a full on slasher movie in the last act with Xavier. I also expected this franchise to be pro cop for how much it highlights police officers as some of the main characters, but holy shit this movie is VERY anti-cop. Bigger, grimier, and bloodier, Saw II is definitely a worthy follow-up to the first film and the more substantial budget is certainly on display. The performances were pretty solid and toed the line really well between reasonably dramatic and 2000s-cheesy. The larger cast of characters, while fun and grander in scope, made me miss the intimacy and development of the two-people-in-a-bathroom situation from the first movie. But technically, this one was very solid and featured some appropriately insane editing choices that kept me morbidly entertained all the way through.

My favorite saw movie so far omg The start was really entertaining and might’ve been a bit confusing for others, but it got a bit confusing in the middle of the movie but it was really interesting. The end was probably my favorite it had the biggest plot twist it’s not even funny.

Everything that was good in the first film just wasn’t there. The formula kind of ran through with the twists and the gore, also everything was pretty predictable for a film that relies on shock factor. The traps didn’t feel so innovative. The saving grace was the girl from the first movie being in here and kind of continuing jigsaws legacy.
