I’ve always been a little hung up on some of the excessive silliness and some of the similarities to Raiders’ formula, but on this rewatch, it finally hit me that this is my favorite adventure movie of all time. Why the hell shouldn’t it get 5 stars

This movie is Raiders, but better in like, every way. It’s exciting, it’s super funny, you buy the emotional connection between Indy and his dad, the villains are great, the action is superb, Marcus Brody is such an endlessly entertaining buffoon. Just watch this movie if you enjoy fun. It’s the best Indiana Jones movie and one of the best Spielberg movies.

70mm I think this is better than Raiders. No, it is. It definitely is. I think a really interesting part of this film is how well it shows Indy’s weaknesses and how he contradicts himself all the time. I think you actually see a real change in character from beginning to end with this one while remaining incredibly entertaining. The theme for this one will also always find a way to creep it’s way into my mind and stay there for days. There’s always that dumb debate that’s like “STAR WARS vs. INDIANA JONES” and movies like this remind me that the winner is so damn obvious.

El nivel de comedia de que mi tío salga en esta película. Encima casi todo grabado en Almería, simplemente goat. También me encanta la escena del caballero, que me recuerda siempre a Historias corrientes.

Another installment in the White People Keep Touching Shit They Ain’t Got No Business Touching series. A fun, cheesy, star-studded romp. The cast, script, stunt work, cinematography, and costume design were just lovely. Sean Connery is fun in his role and I miss River Phoenix so much it hurts.

I’d probably rate this higher if it weren’t for some of the issues I had with the rest of the movie, because the final 30 minutes are genuinely one of my favorite final sequences ever. I love pretty much everything about it. The heart of the movie is easily Indy’s relationship with his dad. Harrison Ford and Sean Connery have such a great dynamic, and I love all the banter and dialogue between them. More importantly, their conversations actually give…

This movie is so good. From the River Phoenix opening, to Venice and Berlin and Petra (meeting Hitler and getting an autograph is absolutely bonkers), and finally to the great relationship between Indy and his father played spectacularly by the magnificent Sean Connery. It’s hard not to love these movies inside and out. Also the kill count is egregious, at some point some dude dies due to birds.

An absolute blast. I wish I watched it with my dad. This takes the themes/visual language from Raiders and elevates it to another level. The setpieces are superbly staged; immersive production design, terrific stunt choreography, and raucously funny sequences. The blocking and shot composition is absolutely masterful – I have never seen anything like the revolving fireplace scene! Spielberg’s use of shot size and proxemics is just out of this world. Makes every scene feel magical and alluring. One thing…

Now THIS is what i wanted from an Indiana Jones sequel! Fixes all the issues i had with Temple of Doom. Has a lot of the good carried over from the first movie and in some aspects (comedy, third act) even exceeds it. This movie really goes in-depth into Indie’s backstory and family history. We are introduced to his dad, played by Sean Connery, who is very fun and plays off Jones’ character really well. The story explores his and…

In hindsight Elsa was German with blonde hair and blue eyes how did we not assume she was a nazi In DOUBLE hindsight Stephen Spielberg would never put an intelligent, non damsel in distress love interest for Indiana jones. Because god forbid we right a woman properly I did like this movie though. It wasn’t that racist like the other ones and it was a fun watch

I don’t like it as much as Raiders, but it ain’t too far off. It’s funnier and it’s got the best chemistry between the leads out of all the Jones movies. It also has a more satisfying ending with more character growth than the previous two. But it’s still not Raiders.

So, the Nazis put all this time, money, and resources, etc. into finding the Holy Grail, and Donovan thinks that Hitler’s just going to let him keep it? What kind of dumb bad-guy-logic is that? It never plays like he’s going to double-cross Hitler; it’s laid out by Donovan in the line, “Hitler wants to write himself into the grail legend… but I want the grail itself, the cup that brings everlasting life.” He comes across as simply delusional. Do…

“Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade” ist womöglich der BESTE Teil der Reihe, der in so vielen Bereichen absolut stark ist! Der Plot, der Humor, die Dynamik, der Cast und die Musik sind absolut Weltklasse! Vor allem die grandiose Chemie zwischen Harrison Ford und Sean Connery ist wirklich mega und macht diesen Film zu einem spaßigen Erlebnis!
