I know this is common sense, but the main themes of this film seem to be heavily referencing the war. The monsters being called Hollowgasts seem to be a nod towards the Holocaust. Also the hunt to eradicate all peculiar children is similar to the systemic extermination of Jewish people?? not to mention that they are literally living during the war? maybe im delusional but it seems to be a big connection :/
