Imagine, when a human dies, the soul misses the body, actually grieves the loss of its hands and all they could hold. Misses the throat closing shy reading out loud on the first day of school. Imagine the soul misses the stubbed toe, the loose tooth, the funny bone. The soul still asks, why does the funny bone do that? It’s just weird. Imagine the soul misses the thirsty garden cheeks watered by grief. Misses how the body could sleep through a dream. What else can sleep through a dream? What else can laugh? What else can wrinkle the smile’s autograph? Imagine the soul misses each falling eyelash waiting to be a wish. Misses the wrist screaming away the blade. The…

Made me sad and cry lots! Starting the movie knowing she had passed away, and then watching the through line of her consistently expressing not wanting to die was so hard. Even though I don’t really fully understand spoken word poetry and it often doesn’t resonate with me, this was beautiful. The Bucket List poem was my favorite. Rest in peace Andrea Gibson 😭

that my death would, in many ways, just make them more of who they are. i think the most potent feeling one can have is the pit inside our stomachs rolling around like a sphere catching ink in a ball pen, we gave it a name, a name that could rival life and in the same vein encapsulate love, we called it grief, grief before, grief current, grief after, and it’s a miracle that in that grief we rediscover all…

May we all find love and bravery in this life like Andrea Gibson’s and Megan Falley’s. So devastating to sit through, so beautiful to sit through, and so funny to sit through. I’m not big on poetry at all but Andrea’s poems were just so powerful and profound, they were a real talent and light in this world. Of course I lost it big time when Brandi’s ‘The Story’ started playing. So glad to see this won at Sundance.

A documentary about dying of cancer can be heavy stuff and sure there is heavy and very sad moments to this but what pervades so.kuch more of it is the joy and love and beauty of life and living that life as full as possible. The moment that stood out for me was hearing Andreas heartbeat straight after they came off stage for the final time, a moment of pure humanity from an source we so rarely get to hear unfiltered if at all. Beautiful and painful.

I knew going into the documentary that Andrea had passed (over a year ago now), but knowing they’re already gone made the entire thing so bittersweet. watching andrea talk about their hope to live…

Christ this was an absolutely brutal watch. I’m a bad lesbian and I’m not very family with Andrea Gibson’s work but this fundamentally changed me and made me such a fan. Reminded me a lot of Ross Gay’s catalogue of unabashed gratitude. Every moment is a gift, everything is love, and this was a gut punch reminder to cherish it all.

[Not going to try and be pretentiously critical] Gorgeous and very raw, octopoidal 😉 and full of mailbox debacles. The messages regarding love and life and suicide hit home and I could appreciate the other ones from afar. Some reviews say the documentary relied too much on Andrea and Meg’s own genius, the work being mainly full of their monologues without much else added – I for one prefer it that way. I want this work to be a further…

I love thinking abt grief and dying and the ways that it can open us up to living more fully and feeling more deeply even as the inevitability of it terrifies me and I can’t always hold the grief of those I have lost so gracefully. what a gift Andrea Gibson is I remember stumbling upon a free performance of theirs when I was 19 and also deep in the trenches of gender and mental health it has been so special to watch their thinking and processing in other phases of their life as well including its end ❤️‍🩹
