Half the dialogue is exposition. The soundtrack goes BRRRRM. You will forget the entire thing on the drive home. A film by Christopher Nolan.

popped into the theater during various scenes while at work tonight and realized i’m done having fun with this: what good is a complex plot if it’s too hard to hear or understand, and why hire an actor as good as elizabeth debicki just to be used as a human punching bag? i love plenty of nolan’s other films, but someone as monumental as him doesn’t deserve the benefit of the doubt anymore when it comes to something as simple as basic characterization. he can create layered stories about space, time, and even dreams, but can’t move past something as old as the damsel in distress trope? grow up

someone tell christopher nolan that time will not sleep with him, no matter how many movies he makes on it. also, i really hope whoever goes to see this movie has super hearing, because it is impossible to understand the dialogue for about 70% of this movie over that damn soundtrack.

we drove 2 hours from LA to san diego just to see Tenet! At The Drive-In then spent about 75% of the trip home complaining about basically every aspect. it’s a puzzle box with no reward or sense of satisfaction. i enjoy being challenged by complex films when they proffer some sort of emotional truth, but Tenet is all logos and no pathos — the only time any character exhibited any remotely mortal quality was when robert pattinson got sleepy and laid down. cool how elizabeth debicki’s only there to be 6’3” and relentlessly abused. oh, and to be a mom! in Nolan World, girls have to either be moms or dead. good thing we live in a Twilight World!

Don’t think and try to comprehend this film. Just feel it out with this one. A wonderful spy, time bending, thriller. Robert Pattinson and Himesh Patel are two of my favorite characters in this film. John David Washington plays an incredible protagonist who has all the suave and quick wits of a classic spy. Amazing visuals, practical stunts, and filmography as always from Nolan. You throw in an amazing electronic soundtrack (God bless you Ludwig Göransson) full of major suspense and cues to the time warping with the instrumentation chosen/played and you have yourself a perfect modern classic.

haven’t watched it till now because of all the “opinions”. some of the scenes were so fricking cool & fun and actually understood the plot pretty well. yes the dialogues are weak and the characters are shallow but overall worth watching cuz of the hype moments. we all know by now that nolan suck at characters so why be angry again. been a while since experiencing new techniques in a movie that feels like magic. (+ it had similar vibes to quantum break and that’s always welcome)

Characters existing just to literally describe exposition will always annoy me, also. Plus his fucking relationship with sound is so frustrating. Characters almost mumbling but the bass is up to 11 periodically. Cool!

“Don’t try to understand it, feel it.”⏳ I may not fully understand the science and mechanics behind Tenet, but I surrendered to the experience.. and maybe that is the point. Behind all the time inversion, entropy, and complicated ideas about time, there is a surprisingly human story. Sator is a deeply bitter and selfish man, so consumed by resentment that he would rather destroy the whole world than accept that he cannot have a future in it. Tenet completely confused…

What a good fuckin movie.* (*After the third watch) Tenet is audacious, singular — and sloppy. It’s fascinating and unknowable (by choice), and has some truly excellent scenes in Nolan’s filmography. The airplane crash / Freeport heist and highway chase scene are great for their technical awe and sequencing. The story concept is daunting to attempt, but Nolan went for it anyways, and I’m happy this film exists at all. Unfortunately, we all know the story itself is way too…

7.1/10 Before we start, let me start off by saying some things… 1. I’m a Nolan FANBOY 2. I don’t think the movie is horrible/bad 3. I don’t think this movie is that close to being great either Just like Nolan’s other later mixed review film, (The Dark Knight Rises) I felt like Tenet had a lot of pros, but was also chock full of cons.

Wow, what an experience. After watching the odyssey and Oppenheimer, I still feel those as well as The Dark Knight surpass this movie but take nothing away from this movie. Compared to the two that followed for Nolan, it’s a major swing and is one I’ve heard divisive opinions about. But I loved it. Sure it was confusing at times but the sheer concept and execution of the idea through writing, pacing and action is brilliant. My only major critique…

Watched this a couple weeks ago so rough review but here we go. I love the complicated plot and trying to wrap my head around what the hell is happening. I’ve seen this 3 times and read plenty of explanations but not sure I’ll ever fully understand. What I do understand I really enjoy. Fun movie, looks incredible, all star cast doing all star things.

“Don’t try to understand it. Feel it.” Tenet is a severely misunderstood movie. Partly due to the fact that it is confusing, partly due to the fact that it’s a lot better than people give it credit for, partly due to the fact that the audio mixing in this movie is HORRIBLE. 🤣 This was the first movie where I really was like “oh hey, Robert Pattinson really is a great actor.” I think John David Washington should be in…

1 puan gec anladığım üçün kəsirəm 😀 Nolanın zamanla oynamadığı bir film yoxdu deyəsən, amma möhtəşəm idi. Başyapıt olmasada bəyəndim. Bəzi məntiqsizliklər var idi, amma filmin həyəcanı onu ört basdır edir. Qısaca film, gələcəydəki insanların ‘büyük baba paradoksu’ ilə keçmişlərini, insanlığı məhv etmək idi. Lakin, filmdədə deyilən kimi ‘what’s happened, happened’.

this is one of the films that you shouldn’t watch if you have a headache, migraine, or drunk because the concept of this film is seriously confusing as hell
