Good movie and conclusion to the Harry Potter franchise. This film has the closest thing the Harry Potter movies ever have to compelling action. There are a few problems with the film. For instance, the death of Bellatrix LeStrange feels underwhelming and anti climatic. As cold as Mrs. Weasely calling her a bitch was I feel like she wasn’t the right character to dispatch her. She literally tortured Neville’s parents to insanity and carved a racial slur into Hermione’s arm.…

Haven’t revisited this in full in quite a long time. I forgot that it starts out pretty weak with all the Gringotts stuff. Once we get back to Hogwarts, it becomes the real finale this is meant to be. I do have to admit though, all the Horcrux stuff and Snape’s backstory reveal, despite them partially working, really feel like last-minute story additions rather than something organically thought out from the first film. I’ll just chalk it up to a misstep on Rowling’s part (among countless more in her personal life).

Feel also through some of this… Definitely watched the final battle however. Neville gets some heroic action. I bet he has Irish heritage or a descendant of St Patrick. I find it funny/odd that some spells are always audible but in the final movies they’re just shooting back and forth like they have uzis. Plenty of ways to explain this away I know, just wanted to point it out. Why is Filch sweeping up when everyone else can just magic-clean…

An epic ending to an epic series. Been years since I last watched this one. I remember seeing it in cinema for a primary school friends birthday party and people were dressed up with gryffindor scarves etc. the friend turned to an old lady sat near us and asked if she was dressed as Bathilda Bagshot.
