Seru banget sih. New experience nonton film dengan genre shark + pesawat jatuh kayak gini. Suasananya dapet banget, terutama pas adegan pesawatnya jatuh—kerasa banget kayak Final Destination 😭 Yang agak kurang justru pas mereka udah berada di air.

Apparently to make a 90s movie you just need Renny Harlin and 47 producers.

I salute all the soldiers of cinema who were out tonight seeing a new Renny Harlin joint starring Aaron Eckhart instead of one of the several very, very popular movies playing at the same multiplex.

This movie deserves more appreciation. More people need to go out and see it. Only 7 people out of all the people I follow on here have seen it. And for all the people hating on it I just have one thing to say. Why can you not just enjoy a fun movie rather than just criticize it the whole time? When I’m watching a movie my goal is to enjoy myself and I did watching this. No one can make a better shark movie than Renny! Please go out and see this in theaters now! 🙏 The most insane/coolest shark movie you’ll ever see

PSA: Smoking kills. Kind of a whole big mess of a movie but overall I got what I came for (exaggeratedly 1-note characters getting torn to shreds). The sharks are feisty, the plane crash itself is exceptional, and everyone is either dumb or mean or both (shoutout the main asshole dude for being the most hilariously assholiest asshole to ever ass a hole). Renny Harlin likes chaos and hates good pacing – could’ve been worse! Also could’ve been better, but hey, big budget theatrical disaster movie creature features are hard to come by these days as it is. I missed Aaron Eckhart. P.S. Was I the only one who missed multiple important characters dying? Like, did the nerdy guy just…

Like all great films, Renny Harlin’s solidly enjoyable “Deep Water” is about an airplane that crashes right into a big pile of sharks. And let me tell you, those sharks are fucking hungry. You’d think the sound of a 747 (or whatever) splitting open above their favorite dinner spot might scare these makos away, but these credible-enough CGI predators quite literally smell blood in the water, and the wreckage is still flaming when they start chomping on the survivors like god’s perfect jump-scares. Even the tiger sharks that ate so many of Quint’s compatriots from the USS Indianapolis in “Jaws” had the courtesy to wait 30 minutes; in this economy, I guess no one can pass up the chance for…

I guess I missed the prequel where they explained the occurrence of these insatiable super-sharks who kill for the fun of it and are freakishly strong? It’s a dumb shark movie (emphasis on dumb) that could be otherwise enjoyable, but the main characters are deeply unlikable. You’re telling me we’re supposed to be rooting for the guy who is actively abandoning his sick son and wife, because “he can’t handle his son going through a horrible illness”. So, the mom…

Wholesome moments here and there, which was quite nice. Liked that people actually died, especially those who tried to be heroic. But I’ve seen two other movies with the same plot, so it was quite predictable for me. It was okay.

Well, at least it was better than thrash. The best scene in the movie was the plane crash. That was a heart pounding thrill ride. After they hit the water the movie started sinking for me. If you ever need an example of a character that constantly makes the dumbest decisions and will infuriate you, just look at Cora. But hey, at least saving her and going through a deadly plane crash in shark infested waters inspires Ben (the pilot) to want to see his son that’s dying of cancer.

Harlin graced us with one of the most enjoyable shark movies of the late 90’s with “Deep Blue Sea”, but unfortunately two times is not the charm. “Deep Water” features a decent CGI-heavy airplane crash, but the sharks are almost an afterthought in this movie. They could have been left out entirely and this would have been virtually the same film. Chock full of cliche characters and situations, this feels way more like an updates 70’s airplane disaster movie than…

so awesome to make a movie called Deep Water in which no less than 4 major plot points rely on the fact that there’s a reef just below the surface. they just don’t make em like this anymore (derogatory)

I don’t wanna put a spoilers tag so proceed with caution!! 🙂 Wow, what a thrilling ride!! This wasn’t just any normal plane crash film, it was also a crazy tale of survival from killer sharks and annoying ass holes!! The premise, acting, special effects, score and honestly everything was so great!! Aaron gave such a strong performance and was the ideal example of determination, compassion and integrity. My least favorite character was Dan (surprise, surprise haha) but Angus really blew…

Airplane disaster + a diverse cast + hungry sharks = rip roaring good time! This was the perfect Friday night movie to watch where I got to sit back on my couch and watch a truly terrifying and horrific airplane crash sequence and then a bunch of people eaten by terrifying sharks. What more could one ask for?! This movie is all about an airplane crash into the ocean with the survivors then having to survive an attack by sharks.…

“You, you’re just you’re annoying.” – Ben, (Aaron Eckhart) Deep Water is like Airport ‘77 meets Deep Blue Sea with all of the entertaining parts taken out. Bad writing, acting, (aside from a heartbreaking supporting role from Kate Fitzpatrick), and atrocious editing make Deep Water a derivative disaster, although the crash scene was absolutely hilarious. I also found it quite peculiar the plane was transporting a big ol’ box of dynamite(?), and compressed gas on a passenger plane. There’s a reason nobody does that, if you did, you’d probably end up crash landing into a bunch of sharks.

For a movie opener, it’s pretty good—especially the plane crash scene (the thriller aspect really hit). However, the emotional character development feels lacking (maybe because there are too many characters), and the movie tries a little too hard to make you sad. If there had been more scenes building the chemistry between the characters through their memories and situations, it probably could’ve made the emotional moments hit harder and actually made the audience feel something. Cora is just a kid,…
