The Tangiers scene is so good that it distracts you from the fact that the story moves into a deeply unserious territory (anyone who says this movie isn’t funny is lying) and resorts to replaying the greatest hits from the previous movies to generate a majority of its suspense. But again, that Tangiers scene!

I thought that if I watched this again while jumping up and down, doing cartwheels and somersaults it might counterbalance the unbelievably annoying shaky cam. It didn’t. It gave me an even worse headache than the first time I watched it.

Outstanding setpieces, especially the Tangiers chase, don’t really cover up for how unbelievably silly this is, nor do they manage to lend weight to its mostly superficial stabs at political timeliness, recasting its hero as the ultimate (sorry) drone gone rogue. Anyway my favorite thing about this (and all of these movies really) is just how monumentally clueless the CIA guys are. Their ability to track and capture any given character fluctuates wildly due to the needs of this leaden, endlessly expository script, to the point where the entire American intelligence apparatus is hunting Bourne and he manages to fly commercial into New York on a bogus passport and infiltrate the Deputy Director’s personal office. Like, they didn’t even flag…

Whenever I order a domino’s pizza and track it using the Domino’s pizza tracker app, I imagine I’m working in a deep cover CIA Op and have just “activated the asset” and I’m getting real time updates on an assassination. Dope movie, but I always wince at how many CIA wet work goons Jason leaves alive, a better ending would be him carrying out his own domestic “hugs and smiles” program on everyone in the agency, including himself, Joan Allen and all the people who start furiously typing whenever David Strathairn says “I need video!” or “Get up on that phone NOW!”

this movie has everything: anti-military-industrial-complex rhetoric, julia stiles in a fuck ass bob with chunky highlights, early 2000s lipstick colours i would die for, a CIA agent typing on a computer and then going “sir, you’re gonna want to take a look at this.”

finally Greengrass arrived at the ultimate Anti_bond. dirty, pacy, humorless, feverish. the tension screw is tightened, the fast-paced camera and editing thunderstorm doesn’t leave you with much of a choice – you gotta run with it. no frills, no cheap one-liner, no mediocre story concept in the foreground. this is Bond’s tough side, nihilistic violence fantasies and a resurrection of the genre.

A marvel of action filmmaking, a masterwork of chaotic craftsmanship and a fitting conclusion to the Jason Bourne saga, The Bourne Ultimatum is a rare second sequel that effortlessly surpasses the towering expectations set by its much-beloved predecessors and isn’t just the finest instalment of The Bourne Trilogy but is impressive enough to rank amongst the best action thrillers ever made. Picking up right where The Bourne Supremacy left off before taking a six weeks leap, the story continues the quest of Jason Bourne as he retraces his steps back to his origins with a few help along the road to guide him through but standing in his way this time is a ruthless CIA official who’s willing to do…

There’s a little chasm you create in your brain while watching action thrillers to stuff logical fallacies into. This one fills the chasm up until it’s in your fucking face. The CIA only seems to selectively receive intel when it conveniences Bourne and can access various surveillance systems only when it, well, conveniences Bourne. Bourne flies commercial with a fake passport and only one guy is alerted but a single human says the word Blackbriar and all hell breaks loose.…

Jason Bourne, A Character that is written DAMN WELL! 💯🔥. He is Smart, He is Sneaky, He is Clever and Yeah.. He’s a DAMN Great Spy of the Cinematic History. Period. So Much Underrated. This part was the Best and even more Intense from the last two Movies. The Continued Particular Sequences in this one keeps you just Hooked onto the Screen. This Franchise also have some of the Best Car Chase Scenes. & Yet Again.. The Ending.. Always that Ending, Pure Goosebumps Guaranteed. ABSOLUTE CINEMA 😭🤌🏻💯🎵🔥.

Genuinely great movie, reigns in its shaky cam to let the action breathe just a touch more, I absolutely love the characterisation in pretty much everyone in this one, Nicky goes from the most annoying character in the series to one of my favourites, I grinned the same way she did at that (admittedly silly) ending. “After a three day manhunt, Webb’s body has not been found” foolish grin spreading as she instantly realises he gets away — me too…

A brilliant end to the trilogy, the best film by quite a distance in my view. The action is truly gripping. Despite it being very unpopular in the public’s view, I never had a problem with the shaky cam. In this instance, it’s not used to cover up laziness and adds to the tension. One of the best segments of the entire trilogy comes in the first half hour, and Pamela Landy actually becomes competent! JESUS CHRIST ITS JASON BOURNE

All of these sequels are just the first movie again but worse in practically every dimension with each subsequent release. THE EDITING SUCKS SO HARD. The characters are either genius all-seeing gods who can guess exactly what building the person they’re chasing is hiding in somehow or actual lobotomised morons who don’t notice a guy breaking into a senior CIA official’s office 10 feet away from a war room currently looking for said guy. It’s a dumb, poorly shot and edited, uninspiring chore – the first film is the only one potentially worth watching from this lacklustre trilogy in my opinion.

This is the best of the franchise and my personal favorite. What I like most is how they connect it with the second film. The fight and chase scenes are perfect, and the storytelling stays engaging throughout. Even with the varied camera angles, quick cuts, close-ups, heavy zooming, and shaky cam, it’s still remarkably easy to connect the dots and follow the action. Jason Bourne is the CIA version of John Wick.

“People, listen up. This is a full priority situation.” I enjoyed The Bourne Ultimatum but not quite as much as the two previous Bourne films. There’s nothing wrong with it. It just covers the same territory, in a highly skilled manner, of course, but I didn’t munch half as much popcorn as while watching the others. One noticeable change is that Bourne (Matt Damon) is just a tad tougher and more resolute this time. Who can blame him. The boy…

I’ll never forget the way I felt the first time I heard Matt Damon say, “If you were in your office right now we’d be having this conversation face to face.” Some of it feels ret-conned, but a good recipe is a good recipe. With that said, you’d expect the Central Intelligence Agency to have the wherewithal to invest in some curtains.

Now I get why everyone was wining about Paul Greengrass’s direction. The Bourne Ultimatum’s cinematography and editing is an unintended mockery of The Bourne Supremacy’s. Instead of knowing what type of pace suits each scene, The Bourne Ultimatum throws that out of the window and blender cuts everything, resulting in a disappointing imitation of what its predecessors already nailed. I wouldn’t say this sloppy editing hurts the fight scenes very much, but there were moments during the plot and chase scenes…

Kind of feels like it fell into a predictable formula, and all of the action sequences are soooo boringgggg I never have any idea where anyone is and what’s going on. After 2 films of Jason Bourne running away from the CIA this one feels distinct because now it’s Jason coming after them. The action has only gotten better as the trilogy progressed, ultimately leading to the non-stop adrenaline rush of action that takes up most of the runtime. In particular, the stunts have been upgraded: the environment is now much more a factor than in the previous films as rooftop jumps, smashing through windows, and furniture are all used to…

Definitely the weakest of the three. Starts. very strong. Some of the early scenes are the best in the whole franchise, especially the attempted escape with the reporter. But by the end it devolves into a ton of horrible and out of character decisions in order to artificially create drama and lead up to a final boss fight with the memeishy evil villain who has been running the show from the shadows the whole time and was also just introduced 30 minutes before the end of the third and final movie.

A cool fun fact is that my dad’s friend won an award for stunt driving for this movie. He’s also won awards and been nominated for other movies too, and he’s an incredible racer.

such a good trilogy jason bourne might be my favorite assassin/agent/spy character in the action genre and im not biased just bc its matt damon. he kills with a pencil and a book. so resourceful and intuitive and smart 😣😣😣 doesnt need special gadgets and a man in the chair. he operates on his own 😣 also hes very sexy notice how its all women that helped bourne. love all the women in this trilogy. marie, pamela and nicky…

So! Here is the four-star ⭐ film I wanted to see. This is a really good one from the Jason Bourne saga, and something I didn’t pay much attention to before is the soundtrack, which is one of a kind because it is so iconic. It was really enjoyable, and seeing Edgar’s role in this one was really nice.

Capaz vi pocas de este estilo como para poder valorar bien qué tan buenas son, pero hasta ahora me parecieron todas iguales. Un poco mejor o un poco peor pero son lo mismo. Dejenlo en paz a este tipo ya está viejo.

The post 9/11ishness of this franchise is most nakedly apparent here. Watching it today, it landed with more of an impact than it ever had before. It’s hauntingly prescient about the erosion of safeguards, overwhelming surveillance, and immovable perception of everything being a potential threat. Serves as a nice trilogy capper.

Ok so these films aren’t very good, but this is the best one. Best part about them is the Moby needle drop in the end.

On vacation in the UK as a 4th grader I apparently asked dad and begged “can we go to the train station where they shoot the guy in the Bourne Ultimatum.” No Platform 9 3/4 at King’s Cross for this guy just Paul Greengrass’ depiction of extrajudicial murders of journalists by the CIA! (9 year old me was a SICK hang)

This movie will do whatever it takes at the end to make sure you remember that Jason Bourne is in the water. In case you forgot, that’s where he is. Listening to a story about him on the news? That’s great, but don’t forget, the main character of this movie is in the water.

The bourne movies finale (but of course, not really) is still a great flick but begins to grow a little stale- the “I want my life and memory back” angle grows wearisome when not spurred on by revenge and a larger sinister motive. Here we have Straithern’s bureaucratic middle man going up against Damon’s assassin- and Edgar Ramirez, while good, is no Clive Owen or Karl Urban. Stiles shows uo again because the movie needed something, but not her unfortunately. The action remains physical and visceral- which is something I especially miss in blockbusters of late.

“Oh my god it’s Jason Bourne.“ *entire audience gets an adrenaline hit* muffled whispers of “fuck yeah” from those particularly riled up. Now that’s cinema. Jason Bourne is a total badass and this film is a hoot. It’s not pioneering in any sense, but spy films work for a reason and Bourne is potentially my favourite spy out there.
