First of Stanley Kubrick is a genius with this movie the sound design the cinematography the amazing acting and the story telling makes this one of if not the most iconic horror movie . Shelley Duval was amazing at her role and her fucking eyes are great for looking insane and terrified. Jack Nicholson was scarily good at acting like a schizophrenic psychopath all the facial expression’s and finger twitching amazing acting. Poor Dick.

I couldn’t adjust the fit of the movie on my screen so the whole film looked slightly stretched out, which really added to the surrealness of it. The acting throughout the film was incredible, and the shots were very unique which really made the movie. I love Stanley’s work especially for his odd cinematography and color palettes.

Great movie tbh .This is one of those movies which barely has any jumpscares but still can scare you by making you feel that suspense and uneasiness. The sound design of this movie makes it even better. The actors were so good with their acting that it almost feels surreal. It’s slow but doesn’t feel boring at all. I actually really like this movie, I could understand it. There’s alot things happening and alot of things so pay attention to, little details, music, symbolism and much more. Its definitely not a movie for those who is just there for the thrill right the moment the movie starts, it takes time to build up, and its definitely unsettling. The whole movie just feels like a slow decent into madness, and being isolated in a big hotel like that in the snow really does do that to you 😭.

There’s not really much to say about this movie that hasn’t already been said before. Iconic, nightmarish, terrifying. The entire cast is superb. The Shining taps into a primal, and deeply unsettling fear – one that never really leaves you once you’ve seen the movie. A masterpiece.

Perhaps the best horror movie ever made, simple as that. The cinematography, pacing, synchronization to score, and pressure, override any frustration or disgust. Not to mention the performances are top notch from not just Jack, but everyone is at their very best. The ending is classic King, and leaves you with more than it takes, not just questions, but fulfillment as well. This was my favorite horror experience by far! Ps, never going to a hotel in the winter.

I really loved the visuals. The camera work and use of colour were fantastic, and the hotel was a great, immersive setting that really added to the unsettling atmosphere of the movie. Jack Nicholson also had a great performance that reminded me of the Joker at times.

Honestly just a solid movie. From the uneasy atmosphere to the foreshadowing from the very beginning, The Shining was a great introduction to this genre of movies for me and had me feeling dread from the start. Also, the soundtrack really amplified the ambiance of the movie and the acting by Jack Nicholson and the rest of the cast really brought this movie to life.
