i miss when pixar movies were 75% singular adventure, 25% sentimental message instead of the other way around

it just makes perfect sense that the best character in this film was voiced by Willem Dafoe and that the most annoying one was voiced by Ellen DeGeneres

everyone turning against me on Letterboxd lately. a guy can’t go against the grain anymore. But Nemo did. Nemo swam against the current when no one else would.

90/100 Still baffled that this was released back in 2003. The animation is absolutely gorgeous – littered with detail and depth – and the character models are stunning in how they flow through their environment, elegantly swimming across the deep blue sea. Never has a Pixar film been so purely entertaining within the context of a deeply emotional journey. In spite of its darkness and turmoil, Finding Nemo expertly weaves through humor and action by utilizing quick cuts of physical comedy and coherent, dazzling set-pieces; the highlight being a suspenseful jellyfish encounter that still manages to add comedy and pathos along the way. One of the most soothing movies I can think of.

Definitive ranking of every single name Dory calls Nemo: 1. Chico 2. Fabio 3. Harpo 4. Bingo 5. Elmo 6. Nemo I personally consider Finding Nemo to be one of Pixar’s most beautifully done films, especially considering the year it was released. Their voice actors deliver really memorable performances. Arguably possesses some of their most iconic characters. The music is on a whole other level, even by Pixar standards – it’s so unbelievably grand. Finding Nemo also has such a special place in my heart. It’s one of my earliest theater memories. My sisters and I always chose it to bring along for road trips as kids, back when we had a car with a dvd player in it. At some…

On a rewatch… Marlin is one of the least likeable Pixar protagonists – on par with Woody in the first Toy Story. Everything else is great as usual, but it sometimes was painful to wait for Marlin to learn his obvious lesson.

fun adventure film with iconic moments like Crush the sea turtle and the non fish eating sharks. touching father and son story. i enjoy the fish tank crew. i find Dory to be pretty obnoxious and maybe thats because i find the voice actor obnoxious and unlikable. overall its a fun film especially if youre fascinated with the ocean.

Idk how kids were supposed to watch the first 15mins of this and just move on like that because I don’t think child me could’ve handled that kind of grief.

A lot of people will think 4 stars is strange for a film like this, but this film holds a deep place in my heart.

Anna started crying and hyper ventilating in laughter when the fish in the tank came out of the chest and made weird noises. And then she proceeded to laugh at her own joke for over five minutes.

Overall: 9.4 Loved the depth and its layers, it wasn’t just useless adventure, it all served a purpose. It was also funny, funnier than cars too. They focused more on the humor; although it was more for children it somehow made it funnier. Fun visuals, I wouldn’t say its the best of the bunch, but still excellent. Loved the voiceovers too, its rare for all to be memorable. Story: 9 Screenplay: 10 Awareness: 9 Visuals: 9 Voiceover: 10

Hmm…. it’s pretty good but no where near as good as Finding Nemo The Musical KIDS.

Movie that embodies the dichotomy between the joy and excitement about one day having a family and the existential fear of if i’m good enough to do so

Pixar Marathon 5/31 Just as great as I remember. It’s amazing how Marlin and Coral’s relationship is established for all of 10 seconds and yet her death still hits you so hard. Something I love about this movie is how good the world building is. Not just the ocean itself, but every single character regardless of screen time feels like they have so much life injected into them. You can tell the team behind this movie made a distinct choice about every little thing. The kind of movie that makes you wanna hug your parents.

Just noticed the Dentist’s stupidass photo he has winning a Teethy award lmao. I don’t think I can be unbiased about this one sorry y’all. Dory is The Heart. Dakota Johnson wouldn’t have the heart to cut Dory down — though it would be so so easy…

“Three sharks? That’s gotta be 4,800 teeth!” Yelp reviews for this dentist gotta be next level bad. “A pelican flew in through the window and then he ripped out my molar with pliers.”

I’m a full believer that animation can be used as a artistic tool to turn heavy topics into digestible and fun content. A grieving father hovering over his disabled son, scared of the world after what it did to their family years prior, is a very serious sounding story in retrospect. But somehow Puxar managed to include charming dialoge and animation, and a heartwarming cast of characters. This movie will always hold a place in my heart, it has since I was a kid. Not to mention the soundtrack is gorgeous. Minus points for Ellen DeGeneres tho.

I hadn’t seen this in a long time but thought I remembered everything about it. The aquarium fish’s enthusiasm for dentistry totally flew over my head as a kid and is such a good gag. Incredible film.
