-
R
Ice Age, as a starting work for Blue Sky, is incredibly strong, for what it’s worth. While it suffers from some bizarre transitions, and the humor can be a bit lowbrow at times, when it tries to garner actual emotion, it succeeds more often than not. Also, depending on when the film takes place, Scrat’s freedom from the ice may not have even happened.

I haven’t seen this one since I was a kid, but I remember loving the entire franchise. Most of the jokes land and were pretty good for their time. The main trio, and even the one-off characters, are very fun too. I love the themes of found family and looking out for each other. Also Scrat is an icon, and this movie has an awesome soundtrack. I like how they had pretty much all of the sequels teased in this one too.

I will forever be jealous that in 2002 you could have watched ice age then bought Galidor from an actual store before heading to blockbuster to rent Spiderman then gone home to watch golden age spongebob before the daily Toonami block aired then if you were fast enough you could’ve changed the channel to catch the latest episode of xplay before your bedtime well hypothetical bedtime anyways because you could’ve snuck in a gba with worm light to knock out some cups in Mariokart super circuit.

İnsanların və heyvanların kəsişdiyi yardımlaşma hekayələrini sevirəm… Sid də zatən məşhur personajımız. Gülməli,məzəli biri sevilməzmi? Təbii ki, sevilər. Manny-nin hekayəsinin heç bir söz deyilmədən bizə göstərilməsi o qədər gözəl sinematik an idi ki… Çox sevdim. Təsirli idi. “Takım ruhu budur işte” deyən pələngimiz. Character development-ləri sevirəm. Burda da qısa müddətdə yaxşı işlənmişdi, məncə. Həyat hər kəsi bir personajdan başqa personaja çevirə bilir.

A lot sloppier than I remember, with some terrible CGI to boot. I remember this very fondly from my childhood but it’s hard to see why when revisiting. Watched this with the original English voices and thought it was shocking how poor the voice acting and writing is. Interesting to compare this to Shrek, with how similar the two leads are – particularly before the third traveling companion joins the mix in each movie. Shrek did it a lot better.
